Howdy,

Just wondering if people know of any places in Adelaide that pay a decent amount of money for casual positions? Like through a labour hire place etc.

I am talking about places that pay over say $16 an hour.

Already know of a couple of places through labour hire, but thought others might know some places pay better than others?

Word of mouth is the best way to find work, so let us know - here or pm - if u know whats out there in Adelaide :pirate:

Doesnt matter where in Adelaide it is either, just metro will do :O

thanks

Integrated I've found pay well.. They are a good bunch of blokes/women and don't get all high and mighty like some other labour higher places I know of.

They also don't come out to where you are working and start nosing around.

I've found they also tend to pay the most. Pay is always over $16. usually $17-18.

Good bunch of ppls, treat them right and they will most definitely look after you.

If you are after full time work Addecco are apparently the ones to go for.

All though I was offered a job at boral; asphalt lab testing and general asphalt surveying after it had been laid. I passed it up due to uni but it was an enjoyable job; quite relaxed, good people and awesome pay.

Addecco is the one i was with last, just didnt like their "on call" jobs where they ring u at a 6:30pm friday arvo and ask if u wanna work...

Unfortunately thats the way all labour hire works as they need people quick to fill a position that some bum has walked out on, that is unless you get a rare advance notice. Out of all the jobs I've had through intergrated the only one that gave me a week notice was the boral asphalt job.

schefenacker seems to go thru a lot of people and they rates here are preety good ( i work here), give the hr department a call and they will put you thru to the respective labour hire mobs.... and there are new projects starting very soon like next week or two... so should be plenty of work....

Darren,

How long ago was it u were with Addecco? They have recently (last year or 2) moved from the temp/casual type work to only full time type work.

Reason I know this is I had heard good things about them regarding how much work they have going that tends to lead on to full time permanent work. I went to register with them but they wouldn't accept me as I was a student and they said they only accept people who are able to work full time as the positions they offer are full time only.

So really I was wrong saying most labour hire as thats simply not correct. There appears to be two main types of labour hire, small position filling type work to full time positions.

Integrated is good but they 80% of the time don't offer full time work that goes for longer than a couple of months.

thanks, will call em and see what the deal is.

cubes, i was with them at the end of last year, so not too long ago. Ill ring em agiain to see what thy have now though. They didnt have too much besides what i was doing at the time....

Im not really fussy if its full time or not, just need ongoing work, so if full time dont work out it doesnt matter.

    • It only looks tidy, as most of the stuff that was on the whole back wall, is now in the trailer to go to the tip, or has been shoved in my 2.2x2.4m "Spare parts room", and now I can't get to anything in there Ha ha ha I could definitely do with a bit more space, but I'd just end up with your problems I'm going to enclose the car port beside the garage, and move a lot of stuff into it I think. OR... It will be setup as a fabrication area, and the main garage will have parts storage in it. I'm not sure yet... Need some pictures of that big shed you've got with the bikes and Skyline in
    • No. I think it's gone. 😭 I think you can get body coloured ones on eBay so I think I'll get one of those... Or just hang a red ribbon from the hole and whack a TOW sticker next to it.
    • Can't say I've had a bad experience with one on my car, then again it only gets washed once or twice a year... The wheels on the other hand, get a good spray often due to my shitty dusty pads.
    • @MBS206 thats pretty neat and tidy to me!  I'll get a photo of mine when I'm out there next. It might require multiple photos to understand the scale of the atrocities though... In total I have 4 sheds of varying sizes and layouts. Main shed is 14x8, second shed is 3x8, third shed is 11x2.5, fourth shed is around 6x4.  All are pretty much full.   The main goal of my cleaning tsunami is to make the main shed predominantly car and motorbikes only. Second shed is my metal fab room (2 x bench grinders, drill press, bench belt sander, metal band saw, scrap metal storage and some of my garden tools.  3rd shed is more bigger garden stuff, storage for engine crane, jack stands, concrete grinder, concrete mixer, air compressor lives there, and it now has two 2mx2m pallet racking shelves with itemised boxes holding building stuff, electrical stuff, plumbing stuff, etc, etc.  The 4th shed is Ryobi electric ride on mower, mini boom sprayer, ancient Kubota tractor, more garden stuff!  I have got a lot of shit....  Then there's the pool house (8mx4m) and the pool pump shed (4mx4m).  I built all of the sheds over the 11 years we've been here.  The main shed was a Ranbuild kit, the rest are all custom made to fit the areas available. Building the main shed taught me a LOT as I had no idea about building anything prior to that!  I've still got one more in me. It will be my man cave which I poured the extra concrete for way back when I poured the concrete for the main shed. The idea is the Skyline will be a centre piece of the main cave once (if...) it's finished.  I told my now 14 year old son yesterday that I will 100% drive him to his year 10 formal in 2 years. Still a long way off but at least I now have a date to work towards! 🤣
    • Modern oils are amazing. Add tyres to that as well.
