You know the traction control is on when your head hits the dash board between hard gear changed!!

The Traction control actually closes the secondary throttle body on the inlet manifold.

This limits the air going to the engine, hnece power, it does not limit REVS, it just pulls back power, so the engine drops revs.

If there is sever wheel spin (IE dropping the clutch or booting it in the wet) the TCS will also drop spark and the car will 'pop' like a mis fire. I've been caught out on the burn-out pad at the drags a couple of times!!
