Rb26dett Down On Power

Hi guys,

I have been having a little bit of an issue of late with my RB26DETT. Basically last week she started misfiring under full throttle and at higher revs and basically felt pretty slugish compared to usual. So i changed the plugs to Bosch plugs gapped at 1.1 and the misfire went away initially and the car felt pretty responsive. However once she warms up again the power dies down and the missing returns. The weird thing is occasionally during the drive it will have a spurt where it just feels fine and accelerates hard.

Coilpacks or perhaps my existing MINES tune could be effected by the current air density?

sounds exactly like my gtr and i am thinking it the coil packs ( i have a mines ecu as well)

If its missing under load then yeah it sounds like a coil playing up. Replacing the plugs is just a quick fix.

Ok, I have replaced the plugs again with NGK Platinum plugs, I have cleaned both AFM's with contact cleaner, I have inspected the coil packs and found them to be in good condition/working order, I have cleaned the air filter elements. Fuel filter will be done this evening.

After doing this I've taken it for a drive and found it to be running very smooth, however anything over 0.9 bar of boost results in missing?

isnt 1.1 a farily large gap?

i thought for skylines they should be around .7 - .8?

As a resolution it ended up being the plugs. 0.8 gap - everythings sweet
