dammit but which turbo?

Wow drift_me_silly, 300 rwkw out of an RB20DET, 480 bhp is a brave target. The best Gibsons could get out of their RB20 was 460 bhp, and that was only for short periods of time. It was more like 420 bhp for any longer races. Plus at that output they had to have a close ratio gearbox as the power band was very narrow.

The capacity increase of 200 cc's ain't gunna make that much difference.

If I get the chance tomorrow I will sit down and work out the torque curve, piston speed and rod loadings at 9,000 rpm, should be very interesting.

Can I respectfully suggest that you work out the costs and then compare it with doing a RB30/RB25 hybrid. For that amount of power you may find it cheaper than a high rpm RB20. I can guarantee that the servicing costs will be lower.
