Noticed in the latest Autosalon magazine that there will be another circuit battle, similar to the one earlier in the year in which giant took first place...

Not sure on exact date but it says that entries close on Oct. 10th....

Anyone doing this?? Or was it a bit of a flop last time??

Surely JP will take the zed??!!

Depending on when they decide to have it I might enter....

Jack - it's being held on Tues 28 + Wed 29 November this time around. If you are keen let me know.

Yeah that'll be right always during the week...

If it was on a weekend I would have been a certain...

Will have to see....

Na mate - I was going to go and then do Race to the Pie the following weekend but I want to see one of those events run 1st before I do it as I still think Big Walls and Cliffs mixed with 650HP cars with no roll cages is a worry.

So I'm saving my $$$ for something else.

And the Autosalon thing is a long way to go for a few laps by itself even if they are free. Plus they still need to get the event right.

Yep I am in for this one and no good re Hoosiers now I have to spend twice the money on RE55 or Dunlop DJ01 and may or may not be faster??

Where does it say they are banned??? I will still run a min 5 with our set up now as good gains in set up of car since I did a 1 min 6 .57 previous

Hey Roy have custom Tein Flex at the moment and yes have trialed a few. Also 4 engines and various turbo set ups, about 4 sets of brakes and numerous suspension set ups. Mainly to test, but also with budget in mind, and as Toyota say, " We race we learn, YOU win. We get to know what works and what doesn't and what to recommend and what not to.

Re Circuit Battle, I hope it works as promote motorsport and a good idea and a lot easier and cheaper form of motorsport than expensive dollars wise and time wise series of racing, such as improved production or similar catagories. I think it fills a bit of a void and should be a goer, and we will support it and help promote it.

Charles contacted me to find out if I was coming and told me they were banned.

To quote him:

"There have also been slight revisions to the regulations, mainly regarding tyres. I’ve created an “approved” tyre list (similar to the system used in D1GP), and a banned tyre list. Tyres such as the twin-band Hoosiers are now no longer allowed. "

I assume we are talking about R3S04 & A3S04.

On what grounds are they banned?

They are a DOT approved radial road tyre, he could legally drive to the circuit on them, if he wanted to.

Last rtime i checked they were on the CAMS approved tyres listing.

:pirate: Cheers :)

Gary - you forget we are talking about Autosalon here.

They don't care about CAMS because that's Australian. They care about what they do in Japan because they are wannabe's.

So if the circuit battles in Japan have an approved tyre list then Autosalon are going to copy them. I personally had no problem with JP running the Hoosiers. I mean it was so damn funny to see him rock on up with them and see that it was raining.

HilARRRRious.

Charels from Auto Salon says 29th is for new entrants and reserved some spots for SAU and those who were in the first one go on the 28th. Shame not same day but sounds like will be popular event. Seems liekt eh Hoosier tyres are a no so have to get my cheque book out and at least there won't be any confusion or suspected advantage. I will probably get the RE55's which I just checked are in stock 295 or 315 if will fit my car on rear and 265 front.

i wonder if this will be like the Drag Combat series... run it for a few years, get bored, ditch it and leave the competitors stranded...

a few years....they ran it for one season! then banned it in favor of running more glorified carpark shows.
