Resetting ECU

Im thinking about disconnecting my battery to reset my ECU. The stereo I have in the car is the standard one still. If I disconnect my battery, will my stereo continue to work.

Alot of stereos require a code to start working again after the battery has been disconnected.

Just wondering if this is the case? Anyone know?

The computer has a learning feature, so it learns how you drive the car. If you reset it, then thrash it, it will provide a more aggressive timing curve:d

resetted mine awhile back

was sluggish for awhile tho..

then after that it seemed fine

fuel economy changed tho

well worth it.. resetting your ECU. Do it!

i did it on an N/A car, because i installed a ram pod, and the throttle was shaking like crazy due to airflow turbulance change.

The shaking lessened.looks like this battery thing does work afterall. never did it on a skyline tho, get an SAFC or ecu is better

im pretty sure that if you do a search for 'resetting' you will turn up about a million threads.

Cam, you dont need to do it. Im guessing your car has already learnt that you thrash it every time you get in it. That timing curve isnt getting any more aggressive.

dissconnect the battery then press ur brake pedal 4 or 5 times gets all the residual power in the line out

then give it 10 min and hook it up again all done

You'll need to reset the radio stations to do it.

Just remeber to press the brake pedal once you've disconnected the battery to fully drain any charge left in the system.

Put's the ECU into learn mode.

U can also do this after filling with different fuel additives
