Safc Tune

hi id jus like to hear from people with safc's. how much did u get them tuned for and where?

cost me 200 at hitman a year ago.

Just did mine this morning, cost was $200 aswell and it took about 3 hours, but we did a lot of runs to get it spot on. End result [email protected] psi

he even gave me time (and tools) to re-gap my spark plugs.

how many load points did they tune? all 12 on an safc2?

but wouldnt you be able to see the corrections %, and how many are set on your safc screen anyway?

i've heard some safc tunes have only used maybe 6 points. wouldnt this defeat the purpose of say a safc2 that has 12 available tune points ?

Got mine done at MRC in Castle Hill.

Cost is around $200 like others have said.

lol, no man, the corrections are set and saved. u can look at them whenever as far as i know, preferably not at 7000rpm

haha yeah.. when i got my car running again my safc locked. it says i need a password to look into settings and stuff. it wasnt there before the rebuild.. maybe the long period without power did something.

i'll get them to fix it when i go for the tune.

btw.. if they only tune 6/12 points and you've got a nice looking power curve then i dont see the problem. if your power curve looked a bit fruity after using 6 points then i'd be worried.

it'll allow you to use your safc when you upgrade fuel pump/turbo etc where you'd actually need all 12. but anything above 230-250kw then i'd start thinking pfc.

Got my SAFC installed and tuned by Hitman. Have a look here for result.

I'm planning to sell it coz already got PFC also tuned by Hitman. If you want pm me and we can work out a deal I can drop the SAFC off at Hitman and all you have to do is come to his workshop and get it installed and tuned.

PS. By the way its the older version SAFC

I've read mixed reports about safc improving fuel economy. Many say it does, but others say it wont.

I'm not after big power, just keeping things moderate, but as a daily driver, i need the economy to improve.

I suspect it's running rich with 3inch exhaust and pod. 15L/100kms.

What's your take on this ? Safc will bring me joy, or dissapointment?

my fuel economy went from 350km/tank to 450km with a decent power increase... and autos use more fuel than manuals.

in my situation, mild mods, prob~10psi, has safc2 got many andvantages over safc (blue screen) ?

i THINK the only difference is the safc2 has more correction points and a nobby thing instead of the buttons. safc should be fine for your mods. i only bought the safc2 because i wanted the newest one out at the time, not for any real performance gain.
