Knocking/clunking Noise When I Turn Engine Off

Hey all,

I have a 1996 r33 gt-st turbo. I have 3" cat back exhaust, FMIC, plumb back BOV and thats about it for engine mods.

Recently more and more i have been noticing knocking and clunking noises when i turn the car off....

The engine doesnt make any weird knocking noises when its idling but as the engine shut downs it goes clunk.. clunk.

Kinda goes like this "bbbbbbbrrrrrrrooooommm......CLUNK CLUNK"

It doesnt make these noises when i turn the car on?

Haha more and more im realise just how much a punishing this car has copped before i got to own it. *sigh*

Any ideas as to what it could be?

Isnt it the exhaust cooling down? I have clunking kinda noises at the back when I turn my car off.

hhhm.... This is coming from the engine intself though.

Might very well being the exhaust bending and carrying on.

Does the sound ever come from the engine bay on yours?

I have a hiss. Like a steam engine or air brakes. Never really thought about it

hmmmm mabe air condition... i no a few r33z dat when deh start the car da air con goes clunk clunk clunk n den shuts off

My air con has the air con removed though.

And the belt that drives the compressor is also removed.

Hm.... suppose it just another *weird* noise to add to the pile of other weird noises that come out of it from time to time....
