Does Ne1 Know How To Rid Of Axel Tramp

Ok... done a search but cant seem to find a conclusive solution.

Ive let the tyres down to 25psi and that has marginally reduced it... but its still there and its really annoying (apart from damaging ur rear end).

Ive good pretty stiff suspension (tein HA) but apparently u can fix it if u put pineapples in...altho i cant understand y it would fix it coz pineapple would make it even stiffer.

Ne1 had any experiences with this or can reccommend a good place to take it to preferably on the south East side of Melbourne?

a great solution in drift pinapples.

we use them to soften the transition from grip to drift.

they effectively also eliminate tramp as a byproduct.

(if you dont know what i mean by drift pinapples, i mean solid mounting your rear cradle)

Pretty much anyone can install them, if you want someone local (i think u live near me) pedders on glenferrie rd hawthorn are pretty good.

I'll be getting metal ones if I can find them because I plan to put them in as "All-Round" and therefore the normal ones wouldn't benefit me as my subframe bushes are probably stuffed after 15+ years of service.

But I guess if you're gonna set them up for "Drift" those yellow ones would serve fine.

Anyone know who sells alloy pineapples? Can't seem to find anyone with them.

there are different types of spacers...

the whiteline urethane (i think that's what they are made from) ones can be used to 'align' the subframe

the alloy ones don't align the subframe, you put one on top and one below the subframe and they squash the original bush - locking the subframe in place.

if you want to align the subframe go for the whiteline ones - they also have a pic on their website on how to install for grip / all round / drift.

they are all claimed to reduce or eliminate axel tramp, but tramp can also be caused by stuffed shocks.

no they don't have adjustable rear camber

one of thing that can often be mixed up as axle tramp, is tailshaft centre bearing movement causing the tailshaft to whip when taking off, we had this on our car & we had pineapples, thought it was a stuffed shock.

fitted new centre bearing & all good!!

NV 101 a member on this forum sells pineapples, cnc machined alloy ones for $100 deliverd. DO NOT USE GARAGE 13! n00b question but is axel tramp the RWD equivlent of torque steer in FWD's?

Like, when booting it in first the rear has a tendency to shuffle around?

torque steer is due to unequal length driveshafts, as the longer shaft can flex more than the sorter driveshaft under high-powered acceleration

axle tramp is related to lack of compliance in suspension bushings and worn shocks/springs.

I get axle tramp and i have Whitelien bushes

Not all the time, its seems on certain surfaces or with certain tyres it comes and goes ....prick of a thing to get the car off the line with it

I have no idea how to eliminate it 100%
