speed limiter

Recommended Posts

Well its a little screw behind the speedo... You have to take the whole speedo out, disconnect all the cables from it, they just pull out. Then its just a gold screw directly behind the speedo, so looking from the front, it should be down the bottom behind the 0, but on the back..... you'll see it. The screw is really small and either gold or silver and you just unscrew it and take it out. It should be near a light bulb on the back. Hope this helps but its really hard to explain. Maybe you want to meet up or something. Where abouts in Syd do you live. **** I just read that yours is a 1999 and I've got a 95, maybe its the same. Ask envy imports 99074144, I took mine out and asked them which screw it was! Or they can do it for $30.

yea I don't know about the wire, but I've heard about it. I got my car a month ago and when I was getting ny car complied I pull it out then. I've only been past 180 about 4 times, on the freeway and on the M2, its not really that much of a thrill. I plan on taking my speed out on the creek.

Taka sells them for US$82 (Pivot), and we all know Apexi also has RSM-GP for US$192 + US$46 for the optional G-Sensor, which makes the whole thing cost around $400... and they both have speed limiter remover function too...

How much better is the RSM-GP compared to Pivot, in terms of accuracy of accelleration measures, etc. I suppose RSM-GP will be more accurate if equipped with the G-Sensor?

Could anyone please let me know what would be the best/most efficient way of taking off the speed limiter on the skyline?

Thanks heaps:uh-huh:

Dude, I have yet to find out if the 34 is the same as the older model in terms of speed cut [removal] - to me it feels more of an electrical / fuel cut than a simple / mechanical screw!

Of course if you buy one of the abovementioned gadgets, it will be fine. In terms of wire 53, I don't know anyone that has done this on a 34 - yet. 33 / 32 have afaik but not ours...waiting patiently :D

what exactly disables it in an 33 ?

I have a Razo TT, Apexi S-AFC, and a few other electronic gizmos...just curious how it may have been done in mine - any of those devices do that? or somebody just cut the wire when they wired it in?

Just know that mine don't have it (wonder how i know that ;) )

Hey wrxkilla,

Can you provide me your friend's e-mail. I am interested in getting one of those devices.

By the way, I am getting a front pipe from HKS (BD4's) for $385. That doesn't sound bad does it? High flow cat will be courtesy of Just Jap. BD4's also sells HKS FMIC kit for approx $2,500...yum!!
