Well last night was probably the first night were I got next to no sleep, in a long time. I was laying in bed all night thinking, what might break, how much power I will make, I hope everything is ok.

So this morning I turned up to Pro Automotive, to be met by Andrew Kutsz, the owner, he seamed a little grumpy at first, but I guess we all are at 8 am.

We proceeded to get the car into place, and wire up all the sensors ect. The car was wired and ready. I stood back and watched, the first figure came in. ONLY managed a mere 147rwKw at first, with the map so lean, Andrew got worried.

After a short discussion as to how he became involved in the industry ect ect, it turned out we had a lot more in common, both loved cars, and both were POLISH. Well what a small world. LOL.

So we bumped up the fuel pressure, so we had a good base to start with, and managed 165rwKw but the map was all over the place. So little by little and over the next 3 hours, Andrew ironed out all the bumps.

The proof is on paper. The car managed a healthy 187 [email protected] psi, also with spikes but I have to live with that for now. The timing was spot on as set by me, good to know I have a good mechanical ear. LOL.

All in all it was a blast, hearing the RB at full noise, is almost orgasmic, and the 3ft flames out the exhaust on deceleration, very nice. I found that Andrew really knew what he was on about, he was very approachable and good at his trade, these days it hard to find people like that.

My Mods are: 95 R33 gtst, FMIC, Fuel pump, FPR, SAFC II, dump and exhaust.

Here are some pics and the proof. I didn't get the AFR maps, I’m happy with it. I have them on paper but need to print them off.

Final figure was [email protected] psi with almost perfect AFR's.

BTW, Andrew uses a DynoLogics Dyno, so there are REAL Kw not shootout mode or what ever.

EDIT: An APOLOGY must be made to Kutsie and all the readers. The figure of 207 rwKw was obtained by me using dyno graph interpolation and the inputing the values into software to obtain a THEORETICAL power figure. This was WRONG on my behalf and i am sorry if i have missled people and IN ANY WAY . ANDREW if you are reading this i sencearly apologise, i did not mean any harm and i know that BULL SHIT is wrong. So Once again i apologise to all the readers and ADREW himself. I was a knob and i know it, but being a man, sometimes we think to much with our ego.

SO ONCE again, ANDREW at Pro Automotive, sorry for shit stirring and an apology to all.

NO MORE BULL SHIT. Sorry.

IF the moderators see fit and necessary this post may be closed down.

ANDREW and the TEAM ARE VERY profesional and all my good comments still stand, It was a great day out. It was very unproffesional of me to make up a power figure that is unsubstantiuated. SORRY.

Well done. did you use 98ron or 95?

So we bumped up the fuel pressure, so we had a good base to start with, and managed 165rwKw but the map was all over the place. So little by little and over the next 3 hours, Andrew ironed out all the bumps. With the boost set to 12 psi, the car pulled a masive 207rwKw but the boost was spiking, spiking bad, about 2-3 psi difference. This came down to the fact that I only have a $22 boost controller as recommended by this forum, and it simply could not do a good enough job.

Not happy with the thought that my turbine could end up in the exhaust, we decided to stick to 10 psi.

The proof is on paper. The car managed a healthy 187 [email protected] psi, also with spikes but I have to live with that for now. The timing was spot on as set by me, good to know I have a good mechanical ear. LOL. Once I get a decent boost controller, I only have to set the boost as we already have the map for 12 psi, and maybe a retune to touch up any rough spots.

Andy tuned my GTR with a new PFC a few weeks ago and I have the same comments. Very approachable chap. Nothing was too much trouble and he did a great job of the tune. She runs as smooth as a nut with nice power gains over the standard tune (on 98 RON)

Well recommended tuner. I would have no hessitation going back there.

Yeh dont the RB's sound great on full song :laugh:

i used premium unleaded, I found that the 98 ultimate stuff makes no differance at all, unless you have a high performance engine. As my car only has the stock computer with the SAFC II as pigy back, it made no differance, and as you can see there is a large power increase from 4500 to 5500 rpm. This happen as a result of teh computer taking the timing out as teh boost spiked. So far so good, pools liek a freight train.

I have the same comments about kutsie too. My car went into him fumbling and stumbling around, I wasnt sure where to start. Came out with a good power figure for a near stock 2litre so i was probably about as happy as you.... Unfortunately I didnt have time to stick around and see my car on the dyno like yourself :(

Cost wise not sure if i should tell but it was $200, i helped out a bit. I think it is best to be there to see it all, you get a lot more feedback to what the car is doing. Seing what was adjusted and when, i know if the car stumbles a bit or something funny, i know where the problem spots on the fuel map are.

My map was preaty simple, the 1.5 series skylines are freaks, they seam to respond well to power mods. Basically we pulled the map down and up with the Fuel Pressure Reg first, that is the safest way, that way no matter what the computer does the map is almost good.

Then we had to add a bit of fuel through the mid range and then take a whole heap out at the top. We also maped low throttel map for cruising. Basicaly -8 all the way through, and still safe.

So now all i need is a decent boost controller and go from there. Do another map, and have some fun. LOL.

great to see your happy.

as far as a boost controler goes id realy realy look into one of the Jaycar ones. all the proof is in this link http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=61207 the well known sydney kid hightly recomends the jaycar boost controler as they hold andd help produce boost a lot lot better. id buy one myself but i just brought a HKS one before id read this. they are cheap at normal price but they pop up as a group buy sometimes. have a look i think it would be well worth it.

hope that helps.

I forgot to mention that thanks go out to Toffy, for suplying the "high flow" CAT, works a charm mate, i'm preaty sure i will get defected for the flames. To yawak and chinna for the work on the intercooler and helping out.

We found that by disconecting the VCT the low down power was much higher but then suffered at the top. It weird, i mean you get to 5000rpm and it's like somone put a fire cracker under it, just flyes off.

My problem is that the boost spike is exactly at the VCT change and the computer backs of the timing, so it excentuates the problem, but once the boost controller is in, we will give it another go. I would love to have 200rwKw, just to say i have it.

Nice work. If you are after some more power i am selling my old setup. TD06-20G, high mount manifold, wastegate, injectors and old tuned computer. Everything from filter to dump pipe. Will get you well past 200rwkw.

How much and why that much, LOL. Nah at the moment i'm a bit low on funds, like i said i need a god boost controller, WOULD love to get an APEXI AVC-R but theya re pricy, maybe something simple like a turbotech or there abouts.

I have read about the JAYCAR kit, but not too sure, not to handy with electronics, plus for the price of the controler and kit and bits and pices is about $200, same as some turbotech items.

What do you guys recomend. I heard good things about GIZZMO IBC

good to see you got that figure out of it and glad to hear kutzie was really good, looking forward to going in as soon as I get my wiring fixed. really wanna be seeing 230atw, but since it's been 2-3 months, I really just want to drive my car again!

Well i recon i'll be going back soon. This mornign the car ran crap, i think a lot of that has to do with the overboost. When cold the boost creeeps up a lot, about 3 psi, so this mornign she strugeled a bit, but once warm all good. I will need to investigate as to what is going on. I need a good boost controller first.

Dam it, i never figured owning a turbo would be so fidly. LOL.

Another day, another Dyno, more money. Story of my life. LOL.

I have an AVCR in my car & if they are setup up correct with all the function they are perfect! Only one thing i don’t like is that you can hear it pulsing when its on boost, pretty load but mainly due to its vibrating on the body!

Go speak to Hamish @ Revolution Racegear! i buy everything through him & he should give you a good price!

    • I would not be surprised if you are the only person on earth that has the interest/desire to do that lol.  The Haltech base map is a really good starting point, the car will fire easily and drive very well, even on mild boost levels. To me, following your advice sounds like some sort of ancient Chinese water torcher lol (this is not an insult Josh, never change <3)
    • Those car show concepts from the 2000's and 2010's like the Floria and IDx were brilliant and should've gone ahead, at least one of them. But neither Honda nor Nissan are thinking about affordable performance any more, which is truly sad.  Even if Toyota's liquid hydrogen ICE development reaches the point where it's commercially viable and the infrastructure to support it, Honda/Nissan would have to wait until Toyota allow fee access to their patents to offer it with any smaller performance models they released to take advantage of it.
    • A sporty manual RWD coupe with a IL4 Honda engine would only be a good thing I assume we won't see anything released for a few years though, unless informal talks and designs have been going on for a few years,  and due to the current, and future, emmisions and safety requirements, I assume anything "sporty" they would do would be at least some hybrid thingie And hopefully anything they are thinking of has nice lines, without lots of plastic and fake bits hanging off it like that horrendous FK8 that looked like it was designed by a 13 year old The other issue of course in the current market is cost, currently the type R is around $70k, a twin is around $50k Meh, I'm old and grumpy and would rather buy a older model car and waste my coin on that than buying anything currently available new
