Yeah I know what you mean when you say slow improvement, always the case with back surgery, try and be patient (mind you I'm sick to fcuking death of being patient).

I'm still not back at work (beleive it's not due to lack of motivation), and it's just over 2 years since my disc replacement. I'm pretty confident I'll get there eventually, but theres no way I'll be able to do the work I used to.

At least I finally got my car back after the major accident in May this year, huge repair, total repsray and it looks smick.

Very nice example. Can i ask how much you paid for it. Again i prefer the circle tail lights just makes it look more sporty. How does she drive is it as quick as they say like under 6secs 0-100. Cheers

A couple of pics of my 2003 350 gt-8 when I first got it about a month ago. Man I love this car!!!

It cost about the 25 mark all costs included.

Check out these tail lights in the dark and I don't think the circle style will have the same appeal. The best word to describe 350gt lights would be menacing.

It definately can do 0-100 in under 6 seconds.

I just can't explain what a great car it is to drive. When your just cruising its an extremely smooth ride. flip it to tiptronic and its a beast (a real sleeper at the traffic lights). The paddles are mad fun!

The amount of rednecks in VKs that have tried me out is rediculous, not even worth my time.

Same here. But I think I can make a go of SCUBA instructor with some selective building performance cars, engineering modifications and doing a few things with the wife in the real estate area. Variety is the key for me now but I can't just do the one thing.

Will, that's about the price I'm looking at for base style if I must. I saw a vid of the new GTR prototype and it sounded like it has the same box.

Do they really only cost about 25K (all costs, compliance etc included)? That's less than a very clean straight stock standard R34 manual.

I thought they were about 35K for a sedan or about 40K for a 2 door, or maybe that's the Premium model?

well I haven't seen to many of the gt8s around (but I haven't looked really hard). None have been over 30k and all have been in very good condition.

Here's an example of one other I've seen for sale from j-spec

http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=7672

I've been on the jspec mailing list for over a year and within two hours of getting the email the car was available I brought it.

After paying them, paying japan, customs, compliance and all on road costs it worked out to be around the 25 mark (so everything except insurance - which is $1300 through shannons for the record... I'm 23 by the way).

You can pick up the 250s or the 300s pretty cheap (closer to 20 grand). Yelp coupes are around the 40mark.

You bastard Will. I bet that was the one I was trying to grab :)

I've been on the Nissan Japan website and the CVT8 is the most expensive in the range, but resale is not holding up. Good for us.

haha sorry mate, I just couldn't wait for my old car to start any longer, buying a new one would get me moving quicker.

Yeah I was shocked when I first hoped into it, didn't expect it to be so luxurious. Full leather and suede with hand stitched leather around the paddles. Full electircs with all the weird and wonderful jap extras (like the emergency boot release just incase you lock yourself in. You may have to wear glasses at night cause its like a bloody christmas tree, haha

The back seats are extremely roomy and carried my two big maori cousins on a day trip with ease.

I really really wish I could get that TV/dvd working, its such a tease, I get sound but no vision.

One thing I don't understand is why the japs would not have an option to view the car info (through the monitor) in english. Like you can choose a language when you start a dvd. They have pumped so much stuff into these cars why not that?. Even though its japanese you can figure out what the meaning is (like the graph that shows you how many kms you average per litre).

If you get one expect to have hoons hanging out there window checking the ride and trying to drag you at every possibility because they've seen the word "skyline" on the back of something that looks more like a lexus than a nissan. Old guys asking you what it is and having a coronary when you tell them its and 8-speed.

I've even had a lady in here 60s come up to me and say its the best 4 door shes ever seen. Weird car, truelly does have all round appeal, see one in real life and you'll know what I mean.

If you can get one in black..DO IT!, its a bitch to keep clean but it looks mad stealth

Hey what cars have you driven before? and how does the handling of the V35 compare? (cause it's a pretty big and heavy car)

Yeah I know what you mean I drive an R34 sedan and the same thing happens to me all the time "thinks it's just the fact I drive a sedan (no spoiler) with SKYLINE on the back" IDIOTS USUALLY ARN'T WORTH WASTING YOUR TIME

Will, your 35 looks awesome. The black is pimp imo... and nice getting it through j-spec

I had a quick test drive last weekend. First impressions. A very comfortable, luxurious car. Had just about every gizmo you could want. Cockpit still has that snug skyline feel. Not cavernous and empty (but da boot, was actually useful :w00t: ). It was easy to drive. When the throttle was mashed, I was surprised at the engine note. Quite aggresive (different to the inline 6 tho).

Raked through to redline in manual mode and it will shift to next gear for you. Was pleased to note that the auto mode didn't feel dull and rubbery like I expected...

The steering is lighter than my R33 (245's on front) and quite precise. It didn't feel big and heavy, maybe a tad slower than my current car (comparing a modded R33 GTS25T: FMIC, turbo back exhaust, 12PSI, 12:1 AFR 200rwkW and manual, to a stock auto car), but the speedo told me different. I'd look down and be alarmed to see passing through 90 kph easy. Same exercise in the 33 was a different altogether, noisier and more spectacular, plus a lot more effort.

I've been eyeing that one on J-spec(http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=7672) for a while too. But getting mine through Northshore Prestige (paid a bit more, but suited finance arrangements) and the guys are awesome to deal with.

The GF then jumped in the driver seat and loved it.

I actually like the styling. Short front overhangs, and the lights look neat.

Other question is, can you stall the baby up and get a better launch?

Hey tooly how did you go with your purchase? Did you get a v35 yet? I test drove a 350gt coupe today and it did go well but didnt seem as fun to drive . It was a auto for starters. The guy wanted $37 for it it was a silver coupe. I love kleenbeats one. I have been told that the dvd can work with aussie one no worries but its going to cost around $3k for the nav to work. Im still struggling to find the car around the $30k mark. If i can get kleenbeats even $32k il take it tomorrow.

If you got yours post up some pics and let us know what you paid for it. If you know of anywhere in sydney were i can actually test drive the 350gt-8 let us know. Thanks for your help :D

I was at Edward Lee's today and they had a few V35's there, so you might be lucky and find one there.

Been away for a while so havn't picked up car yet. It's gonna be ready monday. Can't wait. Been thinking I dind't play around twith the traction control switch yet....

Once again try guys at Northshore Prestige. They'll get your car near price mark. Can confirm that cos mine is there!

We dropped in to Edward Lee's and didn't like their high price and hard sell (hay what is it with the put deposit down right NOW? Don't ppl know that it's a sure way to get ppl to walk out? FFS who forks out 30 grand on the spot??) . Didn't even get to test drive. They have a lot of stock though including a V35 4dr without the TV (???). Decide for yourself. :(

You're right about the higher asking prices and pushy sales approach. I think they like to leave themselves HEAPS of room to bargain down, though...

No, Shayne, can't say I was looking hard enough at the prices of the cars because I was there with my cousin who's looking to replace his R33. If I'd had more time (and if I was looking for myself), then I'd probably have taken more notice of the prices of the V35's and R34's...

BTW, there's a silver V35 for sale out the front of a house on the Cumberland Highway in Merrylands, directly across the road from Centenial Gardens (or whatever it's called). Don't know any details about the car, unfortunately, but I've noticed it a few times when I drove through there. Person living there must own or work for a dealership, as there were a few other cars there as well with For Sale signs in/around them.

I think im going to go with the guys at Northshore Prestige everyone seems to recommend them. I just want to have a drive before i put down a deposit. The guy over my way in sutherland wouldnt even let me drive and it was an auto coupe 350gt. I curious to know how tooly goes with his this week and see if its everything he wanted. Probably worth the extra money to get the tv version its cool to show off to friends and my misses can watch a movie when i go on long trip. Yella

Picked up the car today. At first it was upsetting letting go of the 33 but now I'm stoked.

Lordy, flooring it off the line in CVT mode I could have sworn 0-130kph in around 5 secs!

I don't know how to describe it. The engine just bellows and holds and everything disappears behind. No transmission changes to unsettle the car or spoil acceleration, just building of speed. I believe an R33 in typical form would be hard pressed to keep up.

If you test drive to turn the VDC (traction control) off in the lower right panel. As with any auot make sure you kick down.
