I agree on the point about street registered cars. From the EC raceway site, "Competitors are able to race their street registered cars down the ¼ mile drag strip at Eastern Creek in a safe and controlled environment." I'm pretty sure you can't legally register a 8 sec rotor with slicks for street use. I'd like to see what they get done for if defected!

Should have a night with proper street cars, no slicks, no NOS. Most of us don't run 10 sec 1/4s but still want to run at the creek, and its good to line up with a car thats at least close to the same league.

Ahh Yep,

Thats me! Big Pommie Red hed! I remember you. Cool.

Ok yeah, You can understand he doesnt want us to go blabbing about his car.

But yeah he piloted the first PAR dogset for the GTiR.

Back on Subject - The way I see it - the sooner they open up the new drag strip the better. there will be more street events. less congestion, you will get more runs. Will be great!

Good night, up until 7.30 then there was a couple of delays, but what can you do?

They rip a decent burnout (whilst bursting your ear drums), they then can't launch coz the drivers are either sh1t or the car has problems, finally by 1/2 track distance something breaks and they just pull out.

One day you may blow something, and lets see how keen you are on copping a $50 fine.

As for being sh1t drivers, we all cant be experts, and this is exactly the place to be learning, not practicing burn outs and launches in back streets, just so we dont look like tools at the drags.

I think about 1 in 10 Pac Performance cars is actually worth while dragging, the rest should be just used as a spare parts bin.

Well i copped grief all night as most Skylines were running in the 14second bracket. Some would say those cars arent worth racing! A friend in a neat 8k Series 2 RX-7 was even running mid-high 13s, so i dont think we should be casting dispersions about who and what should be allowed to run at the creek.

I loved seeing the blown Capri run and 8.2 (or was it 8.4), and the Pac car run a 8.6. The great thing about street drags is the variety.

Me im wanting to run my car soon, but dont want to hear people throw mud because i cant do a 12, be it because my cars stock, or i cant drive.

People shouldnt feel intimidated about running their car at the LEGAL drags. No matter how fast, or slow. If a guy crosses the line and hits your car, then you have reaon to be pised off, otherwise, if you dont want to run an angry 8 or rotor, then let them leave on the green, and give them a seond or two head start, your timer doesnt actually start until you cross the line.

After reading this post, again im suffering from stage fright.

If my problem caused 25 other drivers to miss out on a drive and 3/4 of the paying crowd to leave 40mins early then i would cop it sweet.

If the organisers were smart (and also cared about safety) they would match the rotors (and other ~8-10sec cars) against each other.

If I didn't suffer from stage fright I would have been on the 1/4 at the Creek about 3 months ago.

Fair point, but they shouldnt be stopped from running.

Have to agree that the situation sucks, but docking someone 50 bucks who has just lunched their car, isnt going to stop it from happening.

I never said they shouldn't be stopped from running, hell they are 1/2 the excitement (laughing when they break something off the line, or cheering when they do a 9sec pass).

Its pretty funny reading about this as I was one of the people who had to sit 5 cars back from the line in the left staging lane for 2 hours from 8-10 only to be told to turn around there's no time left, so I agree there should be penalties its a F*CKING joke, I don't believe anyone hear can comment on it to much till you've experienced the anger and frustration of this happening to you as I drive over an hour each way to get there only to have the night F*CKED up by some car that shouldn't or couldn't be registered let alone racing real road registered cars

Whats entry fee, $45? Try spending 3-5 times this amount to go to a circuit day (can be up to 3 hour drive) only to have someone beach their car or blow up and lose sessions as a result. As a percentage you can lose up to 30% of your track time.

Sure it sucks, if the scrutineers pass the car, and mech failure arises then you cant go penalising the guy.

Anyway what would a $50 penalty achieve. Its not going to be able to be refunded to participants or spectators, it wont prove to be a deterrant, hell speeding tickets/fines dont stop people from speeding, something they DO have control over.

Instead of a $ fine, how about a suspension if your car, through driving or mech failure, causes clean up delays. Say you get 3 months in the bin if your car spits the dummy at more then 1 in 4 events.

I did say a penalty I didn't say $50

There's no way you can compare track to strip as we get to race for a total of 45 seconds if we're lucky and get 3 runs

At no point was I whinging about the cost of the night I was whinging that most of the time its cars that shouldn't be registered or racing there that cause the problems

I thinks it has to do with the EPA and noise past a certain time.

Either way it sucks that cars break, and that ppl get stuffed around by it.

oh and i wasnt accusing you of winging, actually i think was the one having a winge.

If i can get stop the axle tramp fixed then ill be looking to run shortly

Axle Tramp :devil2: x100000

I put in 2 brand new Koni Adjustable Shocks only about a month ago and it reduced it by about 75%, i've already got DrDrift's pineapples installed and its still bloody pissing me off.

The rear tyres are pretty warn (some crappy Falken tyres) so after I put some decent FM901's or -something- on in a month or 3 if my axle tramp hasn't been 95% fixed im gonna screeeeeam (Not sure whatelse I can do) !!!!

:D:P
