Aussie made cars and V8's only - dont get me wrong I think this gr8 and quite spectacular to watch, I'm a big fan of the V8 Supercars.

Initially I beleive it changed to this because the Aussie made cars couldn't get a look in, and it has grown into THE premier event.

What can we do to get the HPI's into the same level in Australia ? Sure we have heaps of little events but they hardly get mentioned on the same scale.

Nothing can be done

v8 supercars sucks all the money out of the sport

No one in the field deserved the win more than lowndsey, he was the closest to Brock out of everyone.

what about the 300C??? everytime I turned around to see what was going on he was leading... he definitely deserved to win!

yeah, i was cheering that courtney beat ingall to the line for a much deserved 3rd place for seto + JC. lowndes is a champ and it's surprising that it's only his 2nd bathurst win. I was sorry to see skaife out early though. I love to watch him drive, and would have been happy if he had won too.

I pose this question to you all. As the Clerk of the course elected to continue the race under a green flag when Jason Richards stuck it into the wall at Mcphillamy when a previous full course yellow was used for another crash incident at exactly the same place, had Kelly been able to jump Lowndes and take the win, would we have seen all sorts of legal challenges because a precedent had already been set? Lowndes was leading by a substantial margin at that time and was reined in under the yellows.

There ya go troopers, debate that one! I know that if it had been me I would be looking for someones head.

yes very interesting decision especially in light of the proven dangers of the track that weekend. Safety should always come first...but did this become a commercial decision instead? was there presure from avesco?

Definitely a commercial decision. Teams didn't spend millions, fans didn't travel 1000's of km's and drivers didn't race 158 laps only to finish doing 60km/h behind the ugliest sounding car the planet has ever produced.

I'll have the entire Top10 + Race + presentation on 4 dvd's by tomorrow arvo :)

Hmmmmmmmm....very interesting isn't it! I would hate to think what might have happened if someone had t-boned JR's commode and more tragedy occurred! A very strange decision given that they yellow flagged the race when JR's car had gone straight ahead at the Chase and was not in the slightest bit of danger! Hmmmmm......conspiracy theories abound!

Tim Jenkins the race director makes this call and saves the race finishing under yellow-all drivers were told JR was there by crew chiefs on the radio and a local yellow was in place-with only a couple laps tp go it was decided that this would be ok - if it was more laps it would have been a full yellow with more SC laps

    • Nah, just take the other one off too
    • Oh yeah forgot to also mention need to also unplug the IACV as well. Thanks for the reminder @MBS206 Unplugging the TPS takes it out of closed loop so you're able to screw down the IACV without the ECU trying to add/subtract timing to maintain the idle (not sure PowerFC can even do this, but Nistune and the OEM definitely does)
    • For sale is my 1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T, tuned to 234 kW / 313 hp. I've had the car for a few years as my daily driver. The car is original (as far as Skylines go), with only a few minor upgrades to enhance performance and driving experience, as typical for such a car of its age. Overall, it is in great condition with no body rust, thanks to its earlier import date. It features a top-notch security system (not literally, but it's great!) with remote start and still functional 4-wheel steering via HICAS. It comes with several performance and handling upgrades, including:     Hypergear 450HP Turbocharger running 17 PSI boost, installed mid-2021 by Jaustech     550cc injectors     Nistune ECU     Front-Mount Return-Flow Intercooler     X-Force Stainless Steel Exhaust     Upgraded engine mounts     Bottom end bearings replaced     BC Coilovers     Lenso DR1 rims     Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003 TL 245/40R18 97W tires, fitted early 2023 The interior is mostly stock, with a few additions:     Viper Satellite Tracking System with remote start     Bluetooth Double-Din Touchscreen Head Unit     Steering wheel cover Cons:     A few paint imperfections here and there     Driver’s seat shows more wear than the others. It's not torn at all, but I've added a seat cover to protect its condition. I also have a CarVX Vehicle History report available for serious buyers, so you don’t need to purchase it yourself. Price: $26,000 ONO.
    • I've had two suzukis in the past have an extremely hard time turning over and not starting after sitting for a few weeks. Ended up the alternator would seize up causing the starter to force. Same issue both times.  Maybe they're sourcing their alternators from the same place...
