Hi there,

If you pull out the power steering fuse or unplug the HICAS computer (my car is an R32 GTS4) you will find that you have no power steering. I can't see why power has anything to do with the power steering.

Does anyone know how this works?

Thanks,

Ben.

the hicas in a 32 uses powersteering fluid from the same system as the front, so when you disconnect it, it stops the pump working properly.

didn't really explain it well, but its along those lines.

Hi,

Maybe I should have been a little clearer. I have not HICAS. I have removed the HICAS solenoids and all the piping. I am using the stock power steering pump but with no rear chamber.

With that in mind I can't see what the effect would be on disconnecting the computer / removing the fuse.

The end game to me if we can figure this out is to get rid of my HICAS computer just because!

ebola, that's what I'm talking about. So you think that it is a high / low speed thing with the power steering?

Do you have any more info on that - I can't see how it would work.

My steering feels firm all of the time! I will check out my steering rack looking for plugs or whatever and see what happens when I unplug it. I assume though that would make the steering heavy as opposed to light. I wonder how any volts equals light?

Have you seen the plug - I haven't come to think about it. Where abouts is it?

Thanks for your help!
