Just one of those questions I'm 99% sure I'm not going to get an answer for but I'll try.

I am looking at putting an Autronic SM4 into the R34 but I'm not sure if I'm going to lose the MFD display if I don't run a pnp ECU in tandem with it. Does anyone know if the R34 MFD runs through the ECU or does it get it's data directly from the sources?

Cheers.

Snowy.

I think you need to retain a pnp ecu anyway for the attesa system to operate properly... or at least this was the case for the gtr's (including r34) with motec m800's in them I have seen, and this was the reason provided.

im pretty sure the attessa is stand alone as well and doesnt need the stock ecu. leewahs car had autronic and no issues with attessa (that i know of). also seen GTS4s using normal R33 GTST powerfcs which arent "designed" for an attessa system and it works fine. On the cars loom there will be wire splicing by factory for things like TPS, RPM, SPEED etc in the wiring so the ecu won't know its there. The ALSD on the GTST is the same, it just copies the TPS wires (and others presumably)
