Flames outta the exhaust

after years of pondering and looking i have finally found how to do it the Jap way. have a look at www.takakaira.com. they're selling a system which reroutes the fuel dump to the exhaust when u hit the rev limiter, thus making big flames come out.

i used to think the flames were from anti-lag system(in wrc cars), but i think those flames are not as big as these. and guess what car they use for the demo? GT-R 32!!

they don't guarentee? flames coming out if you have a cat converter, they only guarentee? flames coming out with a exhaust system with no cat!

My GTR blows huges flames out the exhaust on some gear changes & does not have anything fitted to make it do it, maybe it's just the tuning.The R33 does it on the start line every time, & on gear changes.It is usually just a qick flash not a continuous blast.Does look good at night thoughon the track.

i wasn't saying i wanted one. i was just saying now i know how they did it. mine has little flames coming out in the past when i didn't run a cat, but i've just put one in so there's no more flames.

Ive seen the flames out the back of munros 34, very close hand, they look sweet. Even my 32 does it on gear changes or sometimes when you back of the throttle quickly.

so i spose if you have flames coming out the back, it means you don't have a CAT... and if a cop sees it then you're stuffed!

Yeah flames out the back is a good sign of de-cat-ness

Mine backfires the most on slow gear changes 2-3rd or 7000rpm changes when it hits the limiter

Isnt it a sign of bad tuning for flames? I mean on a very high horsepower GTR like Munro's 33, then its a case of having a bit of richer tuning due to the power you are trying to achieve. But on a street use, flames shows bad tuning.

Not really Even when leaned out R33s at least are known to still light the night up

When my car is too rich it doesnt flame but unburnt fuel out the back possibly cools the exhaust down , rather than the other way around...

Hi Guys, we run excessive fuel on the overun to cool the cylinder heads, it's an old trick. This unburnt fuel ignites due the heat of the pipe and/or when you get back on the throttle. It knocks about 5 to 8 degrees off the head temperature.
