So guess what happened to me on the weekend? left my 1990 r32 outside my house on sat night came back in the morning to find my passenger side window smashed and my 4 month old Alpine CDA-9857 stolen. the scumbags smashed up the whole centre console. 2nd time ive had a smash and grab on my car!!!

my advice to anyone that lives in richmond Vic- watch out.

usually i take my face plate off, but i must have just got lazy.

Can anyone suggest where i can find replacement parts?

i need a new passenger side window, and all the plastic parts of the centre concole. (not to mention a new radio...)

if anyone finds an Alpine CDA 9857 2006 model. serial no. E60310258 could you please contact me.

any help would be great. thanks guys

Dave.

i know this doesnt help and im sorry to hear about your breakin & theft but do you by any chance have the headunit cover case (black thing). Mine is shagged and need a new one, but can't find them anywhere.

I've got one from my old headunit. It's yours if you like

haha sorry i just found that hilarious. No matter how nice you tried to be about it it just sounded so heartless...

i know the excess wouldn't be worth it but were you insured?? Some of these Alpine headunits can be pretty expensive so yeh...

    • Realised I never posted this , also I never got a price
    • I'm glad to hear you've joined the SKI club. Spend the Kids Inheritance.
    • I have a VALCON if anyone wants it, I have no idea why you'd want to have VVT specifically broken out of the ECU as opposed to running it off the FCON/whatever standalone you have.
    • Hi Yes we're a bit optimistic we might get something out of sealing up the two pipes of the external wastegate and reactivating the stock one. I believe the orginal stock wastegate was tack welded shut. It doesn't budge and visually looks closed and sealed. The car has noticeably more lag so it could be at least part of the problem, maybe all. It's definately one of the key changes made since last tune. And it's one that's more difficult to fully understand and measure, not like for instance timing or cylinder compression.  Thanks for that feedback, we'll let you know how this progresses. Fingers crossed.   Regards Rob
