I have an R33 GTS-t and was wondering was size MT's would fit comfortably?

I know of a set with mags for sale - they are 275/50/15 with 15x6.5in wheels...

my drive tyres are 265/35/18 with 18x9.5in wheels & they just clear the lip under wheel arch (car lowered slightly)

the 275's are a good buy (as wheels this size are hard to pick up too) but don't wanna risk buying them if they don't fit...

does anyone have this size fitted to their R33?

any help would be much appreciated...

255/50/16 are best suited to your car, anything larger would be overtyreing the car. They also fit on 300zx alloy rims. can find them somewhat cheaper. otherwise 235/60/15 to suit a 15" rim.

Is that width doable on a 6.5 inch rim?

Have a drag day this weekend and a mate offered to lend me his 275 MT streets. When I realised my 15 inch rim was 6.5 inch wide I laughed and said thanks for the offer but no thanks.

I thought the 235 would struggle on the 6.5 inch width let alone a 275?

275 are generally 17" in MT anyway. should run 255 on a 7" rim.

The common sizes are as follows, 235/60/15, 255/50/16, 275/40/17

yep certainly is - i have seen them up close & there is no doubt about it - a

are 15x6.5in rim with 275/50/15 tyres

I have 275/40/17 MT ET Street Radials and a 17x9 rim. The MT Radials replace Nitto 275/40/17.

With the above size on a GTS25t you will NEED to lip the rear guards if you want minimal/zero neg' camber.

Whats the offset of your rims? Im thinking of running the 275s on 33gtr rims which are +30 offset but i doubt they will fit..

At ~18,000 BTU ballpark nominal capacity the power draw is at what, 2.2 kW? ~185A is a pretty crazy amount of amps. At 200V it's only 11A. The 70A nominal kits with up to 100A peak draw I see for stuff like classic Porsches have pretty substantial compromises like shutting off at idle and not actually managing to keep the interior cool in hot conditions because they can only output like 6000 BTU. IMO if I had to pick what high amp draw component to retrofit to these cars I would start with the engine fan, not the AC compressor. You need an ~850-1000W brushless fan, something like this: I would love to see the data but I would bet that whatever you save by running the AC compressor in a more efficient regime with an electric motor you're probably losing to conversion losses anyways. It's not really like a clutch fan where you're losing power all the time even when it's nominally disengaged and it gets worse as it engages because the envelope tracking isn't that precise.

    • I'm wondering is the Toyota and Mazda "collaboration" could see that new Toyota ???G20 ??? turbo engine that they have been showing off recently into a future MX5, apparently it's good for 400hp out of the box That could easily, possibly, be much better than the last collaboration between Toyota and Subaru with the boxer engine in the twins
