my R33 has been off for the past 2 weeks and just this afternoon i started it up for a while, and noticed a few drops of fuel from the fuel lines underneath the fuel filter..

Anyone know wat it might be?

I was thinking it might be the fuel filter and am goin to purchase a new one tommorow, but ive only had this filter for about 5 months now..

leaks don't "resolve themselves".. they don't always leak, but it will eventually leak again

MKDR33 - go get a new fuel filter (i think the rb20 is part# Z 387 if that helps) and get about 3M of fuel hose. then go about changing all the lines and the fuel filter. i did this recently, and also relocated my fuel filter up near the plenum where its MUCH easier to get to...

when you go to change the filter/lines, pull the fuel pump fuse first, and crank the car for a few seconds. this will use most of the fuel in the lines so it doesn't go everywhere.. if you don't do this, you will learn the hard way that's for sure

best of luck,

Warren

i already took the filter out, ive changed my filter before, but this time i done it by takin out the fuse and cranking the engine til it died.. i inspected the filter, it looks fine, but i will still purchase a new one tommorow..

as for fuel lines, ive heard stories that if u leave ur car off for a while, they corrode and leak?

safe to change the lines anyway.. costs about $10 for 2-3 metres of hose.. and abotu an hour worth of swearing etc.

so i can replace the metalic fuel lines with rubber lines? will it retrict fuel flow or anything else i should be aware of before attempting this?

metalic lines? no..

i mean the rubber lines in the engine bay

there should be metal lines that run under the car that end at the engine bay.

then there's a hose from those to the fuel filter, a hose from the fuel filter to the fuel rail

then on the way back, a hose from the FPR all the way to the metal lines again down below

yes this im aware of, but i thought u meant to change the metalic lines underneath the car hehe.. the leak looks like it came from the hose connected to the bottom end of the fuel filter, or around that area, which is the return hose i think.. so ill inspect this tommorow.. hopefully a new filter will fix my problem, if not ill replace those hoses..

Thanx 4 ur help :P
