ok, im an auto elec and spent 2 years wiring up motec ecu's in drag cars/sprint cars/street cars/race boats/hovercrafts/rock crawlers/v8 supercars ect ect.

however i have next to no experiance with power fc's

my current daily is a r33 is only got a hks pod, 3" zorst, front mount and runs a mild 0.7 bar boost

is a pfc a worthy investment? motecs used to really unlock power in cars, but at a rather large cost? do the fc's make much differance? :P

It depends on what your intentions are for the future. If your happy, leave it, if you intend modding the motor then an aftermarket ecu is essential. Pfc's aren't the only game in town [motec, wolf, haltek etc]. But they are probably the most familiar.

Looking at the mods you have at the moment, I'd probably be doing a few other things to take advantage of a good pfc = fuel pump, injectors, turbo upgrade, boost controller etc and I've probably missed a couple of things. You need a pfc to be able to use these mods, you need these mods to get the use out of a pfc.

If I could wire up a motec system and get a good tuner that knows the motec system ,

I would most likely head that way......PFC in a group buy costs around $950...

Motec on the other hand can cost 3 to 4 times this amount.

It is easy to install and has a step to step procedure(Thanks to Paul) on this Forum to allow anyone

to get the thing running and onto a dyno.....

Sure it is not the best computer on the market......and yes you have some limits on the PFC.

BUT.....it is bang for bucks. And a mod. heads dream to get this type of performance for less

than a set of tyres.

Back to your question.......if you are building a track car only go...Motec.

If you drive it day to day....PFC.

:P:D

its just a daily. to tell the truth ive never been a massive fan of skylines (no offence) but i swapped it for somthing? its not a bad car, not looking at doing any major mods. power fc's are cheap and i was just wanting to know if they made much differance to a mild modded car?
