always loved skylines ever since my mate bought his r33 gtst. just had to have. picked the r32 gtr after watching some old bathurst 1000 vids plus heaps of import dvds

Always believed the R30 to be the best Skyline ever to come to these shores and until the R32 got sold in limited quantities in GTR spec by Nissan, it was widely considered in the automotive industry as the best as well.

As is fairly well documented I now own one of the rarest of all R30 Skylines, 1 of just 2 or 3 in Oz and 1 of only 2 or 3000 made all up between '83/'85.

It's not about the power, as the L20ET doesn't understand what that is, but for it's rarety value and unique design.

It's going to be a long time, if ever, before the R32 & 33's become cult status in Japan, as the R30's do now. The BNR32 GTR will always hold it's head high, as the fastest of all Skylines at Le Mans.

I've just always wanted one. Thought they always looked gorgeous on the road and when my mate took me for a spin in his series 1 33, I just had to have one. I bought an series 2 though, I just think they look sexier with the open grille, tastier front bumber and the squarer spoiler.

had an r31, so i updated to an r32, naturally.

and plus ive always wanted the 32 shape ever since godzilla tore apart the mountain!

Originally had a BMW 328i Coupe as first car, then wanted something faster as my brothers R33 220-230rwkw GTS-T felt good to drive.

So then owned a GTi-R for almost two years and then wanted to go back to something smooth like the Beemer but didn't want to the sacrifice power.

Loved the R34, test drove a few, found a bargain so I picked it up. I'm now a happy owner of approx. 6 months and I doubt I'd be selling this anytime soon.

When I opened those pages of Motor magazine almost 14 years ago, when they featured a article of the R32 Vspec vs the Supra RZ. It was love at first sight, which has over the years become a true passion bording on obsession.

Finally was financially able to get my first skyline GTST 2 years ago.

Had a commodore, wanted to do it up for track work.

Was looking at $7000 for engine setup I wanted.

$2500 in suspension

$2500 in brakes.

Still needed diff upgrading, and gearbox probably wanting strengthening...

That's $12 000 in upgrades... Plus still needing more...

For what I was going to spend on mods, I bought a skyline.

A mate threw me the keys to his, Car was dead stock, bar minor suspension setup.

Car handled, and stopped exactly how I wanted. Car went good even for a stocker.

I bought mine with a couple of mods done. Goes like a rocket (Well, compared to what I had...)

Now I'm trying to sell a Commodore...

well i wasn't sure what i was going to get.. i really liked the look of 300ZX, supra and skyline so i took a few test drives and after driving my bro's new skyline and a few others I was sold. I think the skylines have all the good things rolled into one, i have yet to find anything bad about them

hmm quite a few people here originally wanted a zx....

well i got my first and current skyline (auto NA) not really knowing much about em but needed a cheap car asap and this one came up for a good price so i bought it.

now i'm selling and looking for a turbo manual to get next. already scratched s13s and r32s off the list simply coz of their age. for my budget, comes down to r33s and s14s but sr20's sound terrible and sound is way too important for me and RBs just sound so friggin sweet. so now i'm looking at getting a series2 r33 4door and planning on spending lots of $$ on it.

i've never seen a series2 sedan on the road, lets hope it stays that way.

always liked the look of them and seemed to have a little bit of everything.

i originally wanted an R33 but ended up with late model r32 that had no mods and drove like a dream.

my cousins TX3 turbo got me hooked on the sikkk fluttering turbo.

So I bought myself a turbo laser and modded it then found a dirt cheap R33 auto turbo coupe with 18"s, a cat back and limo tint. loved it and wanted manual. since then i have had 2 5spd R33 Sedans.

best all round money and power for $$ spent on the the market i reckon.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
