Hey guys,

need to change my turbo asap, have found a series 1 r33 turbo but i only ever here of people talking about putting series 2 rb25 turbos on as an upgrade - is there really a big difference between the turbo's? and will a series 1 still give me a reasonable power upgrade from standard rb20??

Any info would be great.

Cal.

both the same turbo's... a good turbo upgrade is a slide highflow for an rb20. Speak to "slide" on the forums.

lol says he who made a thread asking about KKR turbos :)

obviously ur mind is made up.

both are ceramic

however the s1 has a steel compressor wheel where as the s2 has a nylon compressor wheel. this doesnt affect anything really. the series two's are suppose to be more responsive.

soooo is the KKR dead yet?

not the best upgrade, go a high flow with steel wheels

they are to limited by the ceramic wheel. boost it too much or get it too hot and bang.

they do make the same power with less boost but you also get more lag.

theyre a great upgrade for rb20s

gives you power all the way to redline unlike the rb20 turbo and theyre cheap. power gain is supposed to be in the region of 10-15rwkw

people are a little skeptical about having a nylon impeller but it doesnt make a difference, the turbine will fail long before the impeller

get which ever one is in better condition

There are a few minor modifications. As stated already you need the RB25 elbow for the turbo plus I had to get one of the lines modified I cant remember if it was the oil or the water line. One fits fine the other one doesnt.
