Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero

I got this from Blockbuster the other day and it is bloody awesome.

You can do up some GTR's and silvias etc with engine and bodykits. It's heaps better than auto-modellista and GT3.

It's also got a 20min documentry on Illegal street racing in Japan.

Anyone else played it?

how good is the doco on it

i have it... its a bit unrealistic compared to GT3 and it gets EXTREEMLY repeditive but otherwise... great game

Yeah I have got it.... Very cool game.... I would like to see a second one made with better graphics, more car options and more modifications including brand name mods ... that would be the best improvement on an already great game

I love it! but only the gear ratio modification is a bit tricky

i used to have it aaaaages ago on my dreamcast... didnt even know it was released on PS2 til like 6 months ago and i ordered it online second hand... its mad... but a pain in the arse beating all the wanderers as if u look up what u have to do to beat them all it would take forever. ive beaten everyone but about 19 wanderers... havent played it for a good 3 months tho.

yeah a new more updated one would be good.

Yeah I have just got back into it.... I have one wanderer and the final boss car to beat and I am done.... unfortunately I have to do about another 400 races to build up my battle distance so that I can race the final car..... It does get boring when your R34 goes so fast that nothing you race stands the slightest chance.....

The final boss '???' will give you a deadly challenge. He is lightning fast!

God I loved tokyo extreme racer zero, And guess what, a second one is in the works.

In that game I was running an R34 pumping out 1700 HP, and the race kings skyline (final boss)

I have to say it is one of my favorite games ever.

Yeah I am looking forward to the last race..... My skyline goes pretty well but I didn't spend a huge amount of time tuning it... From memory it has about 1100 PS and hits around 430 or 440 k's without too much trouble...

As for a number 2 for tokyo extreme racing zero.. if that hits shelves here I promise to buy the first copy

On the topic of this game, how do you get bonus money when racing?? and what is the average $$ won on a race?? As i have one car (R-34) Makes 620ps from memory.. Any hints?? As it has been so long since i played it i cant remember... Any hints tips you know of would be great.. (already got ones of the net)

Hmmm from what I remember the bonus money is given out when you beat the wanderer's and the boss cars like all the 13 devils and such.....

A good tip if your car is powerfull enough is when you get the oppurtunity to race any of those cars race them a few times to cash in on the bonus money.... each time you race them you will get less but it still beats the normal cash for normal races!!

i've been playing a jap version on a mates ps2 and it's awesome. i does get a bit repetitive.

i was fooling around and found if you hold L1, L2, R1 or R2 down when you choose your start position and direction you get a little monster hanging next to your rear vier mirror.

hitting reverse at the start of a race gives a little power-boost too.

i heard the next jap version 0.1 is going to be online and you can race against multiple cars at once.

What is the final boss?

I raced a 34 gtr with writing all over it. After that I got lots of money. Is that the final car?

How do you beat all the wanderers? I can't get them to race me.

The back cover talks about a highspeed track. Is there more for me to do? Cause I don't have this yet, beside the regular roads.

I still havent raced the final boss although I have been told what the car is..... It sounds like you have beaten the first major boss and are about half way through the game.... You should find as you beat more gangs you will unlock more parts of the roads ( the last set are some long straight roads for good top speed runs ) ... some of the wanderers will only race you if you have some very specific things on your cars.... I won't even try to list them here as the list is pretty long, try going to www.gamefaqs.com and looking up the game as they have a list you can print out of every wanderer and what you need to race them.... I found that file incredibly valuable
