two cars went off the track ..... new mini looked like a write off, the front left strut was ripped out of the strut tower, and roof was folded in pretty well/

best production car time was like a 59.88sec. some of the open wheelers were actually quick though.

haha $50 says you wouldnt mate. I think you guys underestimate these cars a little. There was a 33GTR with twin 2530's making shitloads of power and what seemed like a great setup going and it was nowhere near the quickest "street" car up the hill, many older cars doing it quicker than he was...

And my dad gets a run each year in his datto 260Z and he hasn't sucked anyones dick so to speak and he's definately not that well off so you should get some of your facts right guys, yeah it is a bit average that Mr Abbott gets a run in a lovely RSR porsche each yeah and the road is re-surfaced almost each year just for that event but its still a good event with some incredibly quick cars for their age/technology, i reckon my 32 would be one of the slowest cars if i was to enter :S

Friend of mine was up there cheif scrutineer and another mate was up there as a steward. They asked me if i was gonna go up for the day...i laughed and told them why would i wanna go up to noosa to see old fogies in their old cars do laps, they got abit offended haha. Sure there are some nice cars up there, but like its been said its a closed shop sorta thing, if i rocked up in my skyline without knowing anyone there and asked if i could attend it, i would be damn near 110% sure they would tell me where to go. The only way i could get in is because im friends with a chief scrutineer and steward. 32det your old man races a 260z......need i say more. If there are modern cars attending its either because they know someone or they have been doing it for years and know everyone, but just got a new car.

Neil Farr did a 54.32s run in his 1976 Bowin-Hay P6 last year.

I was waiting for you to reply hrd-hr30, you would have to be without a doubt one of the biggest wankers on here with no idea on just whom I am. Warwick can stick his “track” record, as it’s only an event record, other people use that road you know. Plus as per what Jamie said above («Cyph3r») record is Neil Farr’s 54.xx.

None of my times are official, as they were never done at the event.

Off the top of my head it was around the 55 – 56 sec pass in a 600rwhp s13, the very high 50’s in my 500rwhp R32 and I did a 62 in my fathers RUF 911, interesting none of the old timers have caught onto sliding around the corners, amazing how much quicker you can get up there. Something to do with old people being far too narrow minded perhaps.

As to my own racing experience I think it’s been quite clear most of mine is done off track, minus some Porsche stuff here and there.

You’re opinion really means shite to me to be honest; I’ve been involved within the motor sport scene long enough, admittedly off the track. Everything from the Arthur’s seat hill climb, which family had a huge part in running, to involvement with gran prix racing MG's at Phillip Island and everything in-between, together with my father owning one of the most complex, MG collections within Australia, including owning the oldest MG within Australian and second oldest in the world.

But fu*k, seeing you know so much; I assume you already knew my credentials as well as my family’s.

It is a HRCC event though for historic cars (ie Z's) just like all their events at Morgan Park, Mt Cotton QR etc. I guess it would be good though if another club was able to put an event on that newer cars like ours were able to easily get into without hoping to make the "FUTURE CLASSICS" class each year, as the track would be great to go around i reckon. With some of the cars in this site i think we could get some very quick times as well.

And NISMO BOY with some proof i would be happy to hand the money over but you'll have to forgive me for not taking your word on it. That Skelta G-force just cracked into the 59's on the sunday and i think was possibly the only road car to do so (if you can call it that - not exactly a daily driver) and the amount of money and research & development that went into that car is phenominal. I have watched this build up as ray was doing it and it is more in the supercar leagues as opposed to a sportscar, it only weighs 700odd kilos and does the quarter mile in the 11's from memory, but with the aim always about all-round performance not straight-line speed. But the challenge is there man, get me some proof and the money is yours!

The only proof is members on this forum and some VHS footage, which is in car only. Never the less perhaps can dig it up *looks at shnaped_second* You still have that tape that Bazz took with us going up? The time the old bumkin followed us to the BP? I swear that day was close to above times, can't remeber.

For interest sake, the s13 ran a 10.8 on pump gas and low boost, so a stupidly quick car, compared to what is entered at the Hill Climb. The R32 would only be speculating in regards to 1/4 mile times as it only saw the M1 fun club straight line.

I wish i could offer you our race car josh...see if its possible...500rwhp r33 circuit car...its got the suspension and brakes to suit. haha just need to figure out a way to sneak it out of the shed and get it upto noosa without my old man finding out I wonder what it would do?

Built rb25, twin hks turbos, over sized piston’s, mass head work. HUGE motor build. Car is in an old HPI and ZOOM mag.
