hey,

ive got this rust area developing under the right hand side of my rear window. ive been told that the rear window must be taken out to fix it properly. now i dont know whether to take the chance of getting professionals take out my rear window and fix it, because ive asked around for some quotes and im happy with the price although theres that slight chance that the window can break when they are removing it. and if it goes wrong im going to need to buy a new rear window. would u guys take the chance? its getting quite big now and i cant get it off my mind. thought id ask some opinions.

some additional information, ill be looking at keeping the car for say another year or so until i can get some money to upgrade.

thanks

stephen

no way. shop around a bit more. if you're taking your car to a panel shop for repairs, those guys know how to remove windows etc. if they break it, they replace it. never heard of them not taking resposibility for their work.

On such an issue, many places WON'T take responsibility for a broken window, but it is a very low chance of it breaking.

And I would be replacing it. If the insurance company can claim its structural, you're stuffed if you have an acco.
