i work with a guy who grew up in the dark ghettos of Labrador on the Gold Coast and he is COMPLETELY CONVINCED that his VK is a superior machine to my skyine.

i patronise him constantly by asking him to explain to me how something so mundane as a dirty old VK could be superior to my skyline (with its racing pedigree)

he tells me its rare!!! he says its a rare car because he has had (by someone else mind you) a Buick v6 out of a VP commodore!!!

I let him know that a VK commodore is hardly a rare vehicle and that despite its power upgrade, a buick v6 is hardly a motor to brag about!

As a side note, i feel this information is relevant: This guy has never brushed his teeth in his life and they are all rotten (brown and black) at the top! He blames the lack of flouride in the Gold Coast water system... I live on the coast and i've never had a filling!!!

(side note: that DR30 is no longer my car in my sig, i now have a R32 GTSt powered by RB25)

God I have a mate like this he drives an old 1970s Valiant Charger with a 245 Hemi and EVERYTHING else is a slow piece of crap to him, ive been in the car with him when he was beaten by another mates DEAD STOCK Gemini and he gets beaten by P plater girls in Barinas all the time, yet he still swears by his Valiant being the best and most powerful car on the road and sits on everyones ass telling them to get out of the way of his muscle car.

Myself im not a fanboy to any particular car I respect anything with power and I wish thats how everyone else was im sick of bogans in their 40s yelling out "jap crap" when they go past in their auto v6 Commodores/Falcons with exhausts.

pfft i got some p plater in his dads 297kw hsv line me up a few days ago , for 297 k/w it really didnt impress me much he only got ahead by a few meters than i stopped coz i was approaching the speed limit lol

but back on topic you will call him narrow minded, he thinks the bigger the better

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
