Fair enough on buying a property and not wanting debt.

And 4wd spinn through corners, hmmmmm I dont have that much power!

And here in qld it is 100mm min clearance so if the police do pull me over I am so screwed, but funnily enough I have only been pulled over once, the officer asked me what make and model it was and sent me on my way! Even had my "WAKE THE FREAKIN DEAD BOV" vent right beside a policeman and all he did was look over and smile and continued on his merry way.

I guess also police attitudes could be different out here in the sticks, rather than in the city, but still, there have been multiple times where I could have been hassled by them but never have been. I mean the car is so low that you can tell it is illegal, just be looking at it, but still, I guess I have been lucky :P

they probly thinking damn family wagon. lol. must be loaded with kids and toys and thats why its so low lol.

thats part of the attraction to the stagea rather than a skyline or other sports car. ive had a lot of hassles in the mini. lost count of the amount of times ive been pulled over. when i was on P's i used to average 2 to 3 times a week. so annoying. even driving sedately.

yeah that yellow one is nice, but i feel the series 1's are bit better looking (my opinion). and yeah the price of the yellow one is bit high.

whats the sorta price i should be paying. the had the black one advertised for 21k but nobady took it. theres another series 1 there with twin sunroofs and leather interior, no body kit or rims though. would be awesome to get the sunroofs.

oh my :P nice car....very sexy!!!!

everyone knows how i feel about that certain place, but i wish you all the best and please make sure you bargain and get a reasonable price cause i know what they want for that...and there is no way i would pay that much for it!!

Do they still have the funky silver one with the autech kit??? thats pretty sexy as well..but definatley overpriced!

Good luck and welcome --yeah another stag over here! ;)

I have leather and twin sunroofs :( it has a buttload of mods and it could be yours for $28k ;)

yes but you dont have a body kit. lol. also you in queensland, which would put my cost over 30k on road. cause would have to freight it over, unless you want to drive it, :(:P

I'll drive it over, at your expense? :P

And who needs a kit? If I did have one the side skirts would drag on the gorund ;)

ha ha ha, hmmmm. i still think it bit more than I want to spend at present. cheers for the offer though.

by the way, if i did pay for you to come over.... does that mean i have to pay for you to go back???? lol

;) of course :(

I'd go the black ANY DAY over silver but I have always LOVED black cars, my r33 was black, and then I turned into a mish mash of black, white, maroon & lime green, it was a BEAST! :P

yeah i love black cars, specially wagons, cause you can go black as tint on everything cept front two windows. looks awesome. harder to keep clean but sooooo worth it. why the mish mash of colours??? was it your practice drift car??? lol

my current car was yellow so will be a nice change.

i have looked at that car myself and noticed the paint seemed a little rough inside the doors on the right rear. I also think that that the cars they sell are way too expensive so make sure you really nut out a good deal. Because they are the only dealer in WA they charge more than what the cars are worth.

I have been watching the prices on the cars that they have been bringing in for the last 2 years and the prices have actually gone up and not down. Howver looking at the dealers in QLD the prices have dropped. Sea freight via intercoastal to perth is about $750. So if you can find a bargain in QLD then it may be cheaper.

Have a good read of the suspension thread if you are lowering the car heaps of good info and settings to get the best out of your new car.

Good Luck

i got a november 96 series 1 model from autowholesale (in Perth) for $18200 2 years ago exactly when they first got them. it had 120 000km i must admit but km's mean bugger all as i wouldnt beleive alot of these 50 000km ones at all going by the condition. mine was advertised for 21k as well and i bargained them right down. it had 17' rims, brand new tyres, cat back apexi exhuast, apexi lowered springs and apexi blow off valve. it was spotless and ran perfect too. i think they have infact increased prices and i cant understand why?? maybe they realise they are getting popular and people have little other option but to buy from them unless they buy one from over east or japan which is a risk in itself.

i wouldnt pay anything over 20k for a series 1 stagea auto personally as they can be imported for under 15k complied from what ive read on the forums and 5k extra is alot of saving if it happens to be a good cond one. remember that photos always make a car look good and they dont generally come in from Japan as clean as the pics make out from the imports ive seen.

if u wait for 6 months im sure there will be a certain brand new rebuilt rb26 powered stagea with bilstein/whiteline coilovers, upgraded swaybars, manual conversion, gtr diff/axles and brakes, and about 10k in other mods for a very reasonable price :w00t:

good luck in the search and hope to see u on a stagea cruise in the near future when we organise one :w00t:

ha ha the more i read the more I want to avoid buying from this place. lol. as you guys say they are a little over priced, however Ive had a look on carsales.com at QLD and NSW Dealers prices and they arent much better. average price is actually around 24k.

the car to see details is on there website autowholesale.com.au. do a search for stagea's and its the top one.

i have thought about importing one, or freighting one across from eastern states but have been burned once before with a car and now im a little weary.

cruiseliner.... what price do you determine as reasonable?????, and why six months???

he'll be selling his, dude. Would be a very good buy. A koala with narcolepsy couldnt beat that thing for 'king of the sleepers'.

ha ha thats the best comparrison ive heard in a long time lol. yeah it sound freaken nice. but price wise I wonder what hes asking....... cause i would be interested, the hard part being the six months factor.

one of the guys over east is selling his stagea as well its pretty heavily modded will see if i can find the link also look in the for sale section on here there normally a few on the market at better than car yard prices.

I imported my stagea direct from japan and could not be happier. Considering that Autowholesale wants 24k for s series 1 and i paid 14k on the road and now have more $$$ for mods couldnt be better even if you negotiate down your still way further ahead. I save 5k and am using the extra funds to start my mods

ahhh!! dont tell him about jays! i want that one!

edit - cruise's stagea would be worth the wait if you can afford the $$$ bwud

    • You’re all still going on about track cars, he has said multiple times doesn’t intend to take it to the track,  just stick to what was said at the beginning and do the pump and ecu, it’ll get you enough for 230kw at the wheels and has enough poke to be fun for what you want it for
    • All of that is absolutely true. At any time in the history of these turbos the lottery has always been that it could die at stock boost treated exactly as the factory intended, or it could die when pushed to 10, or 12, or 14, or 16 psi, after a short time, or a longer time, or it could last seemingly forever. You have the combination of all the possible statistical (probably) normal distributions of manufacturing tolerances and quality outcomes, on top of the statistical distributions of failure modes (which might be normal, but are probably biased, like Poisson distributions). You get the lucky turbo and you can beat on it for years. You get the really unlucky turbo and it will crap itself as it rolls out of the factory gate. And every possibility in between. But you can definitely still kill the lucky turbo. It's just that most people didn't try, once they knew they really shouldn't try.
    • Maybe I have Stockholm syndrome but working on an M2 isn't that hard. Getting parts cheaply and quickly is hard, but getting parts same day isn't necessarily hard if you're willing to pay way too much for it at local dealers. There's a lot going on, you need to have a build of ISTA on a laptop and the right cable, if you don't have the mindset of "do it exactly right or not at all" you will probably start seeing cascading failures. Skylines are a little more tolerant in that regard. The car doesn't potentially trash itself if you bought the wrong oil filter like a BMW would. Or trash the entire cylinder head and potentially spin a bearing because someone took the anti-drainback valve out of the plastic oil filter cap. An M2 will also do just fine on track, zero oil starvation concerns, factory brakes are great if you change the pads for a high temp compound + flush with track-ready fluid.
    • The "ideal/formula" that used to be touted was death of the turbo is going to be caused by a combination of 3 things. Heat Speed of turbo (boost level you're pushing) Time   Basically, you can get away with high heat and high boost for short periods. But start doing long hard pulls, or circuit driving etc, and now you've increased time as well which will shred things. From memory when Adrian was drag racing he was running 17psi, on a stock turbo, and running insane speeds. But he also had other additives helping in the setup too. Some people have success at 14psi for a while, while others due to pushing the cars hard for long periods opt down to lower temps. But also, generate a lot of heat (let's say bad tune), for a long time, and you'll be okay, until you try to spin that little guy up slightly. It's the one advantage of dumping a lot of fuel in, you'll be reducing EGT a bit and helping with the heat portion of the above 3 areas.   And these days, stock turbos are that old that there's the possibility of just outright failures due to material age. I'm not shocked that even when used in factory spec that a stock turbo fails when 30 years old. It's a worn out "precision" "balanced" performance item, that's likely no longer precise, or well balanced
    • this... hence I said what I said previously, SMSP nights you see mainly Hondas, Evos, A90s, F80x and the odd VW. The 5 or 6 times I went, I only saw 1x R32 GT-R, and other than that I was the only one in a shit box Skyline.
