what are the differences between r33 gtr and gts25t fronts?

I'm getting a skyline gts-t front to put on my 97 240sx. The gtr is quite a bit larger than the 240, so thats out of the question. I've got a deal on a gts-t front (free, yay!) and was debating whether to keep it and put it on my car, or sell it. I'd like to know the differences between the front of the gtr and gts25t, mainly the front fenders. Whats the width of the front of both cars? for comparison. Thanks for any help! :)

GTR has wider guard, therefore, more aggressive look. And they were made in aluminum, so lighter, too.

Get rid of it, and buy a S15 front! 240 with skyline front looks ugly!!

I think the silvia front is stupid looking on 240s, its too plaid out. This is free (i have a ****ed up front anyway) and will raise the value of my car, since I'm selling it. The s15 front costs 3500 bucks, this is free and would sell for $1k if I'm lucky.

to convert S13 to 15 front isn't that hard, what u need is a pair of S15 gaurd. after market front bar(u can choose standard, but would u?) and a bonnet, even the bonnet is carbon fibre, they won't even cost close to a$3500!! sell yr R33 front at $us1000 and source the gaurd, bonnet, front bar, i GUESS would be about us$1500?

dude, i have a 97 240sx, thats the body style that looks like a skyline already. thats FAR from an s13.

I would personally dump the price even further down if you have GTS-t fronts from on your 240s... that's a tell tale sign that your car may have been trashed or accident damaged in the past and you ended up have to use fronts from other cars cause you can't find the genuine replacement...

If you want to increase the sales value, stick with a genuine 240s front, with hi quality repairs, you can cover any signs of car was trashed or in the accident.

im in america, this front end swap sells for ALOT of money. a car with it done sells for quite a bit more. people swap front parts all the time. it wont drop the price of my car.

guys - as he said hes in america - where the market is different, so you cant comment on value. Also, he asked specific questions, not asking for opinions,...

thanks for backing me, i was getting really frustrated but didnt say anything. THANKS!

Ok then, fair enuf.

Gee, you americans are funny... :-)

Maybe that explains why honda civics and camrys are very popular there with flashy body kits and different tail lights, head lights and everything....

thats not cuz we're funny, thats cuz our population of stupid people is high. i despise the majority of honda owners, because most of them are stupid and make their cars into freaks of nature. the only reason im interested in using the r33 front is because its free so it saves me money, and it will raise the value of my car, since i might be selling it really soon.

the gtr front-made of aluminium, has a wider guard, wheel arches are slightly flared, grilloe is different and it looks more agressive. In my opinion if u put a r33 gts25t nose on ur 240SX it will look crap(no offense if u thought it would look good) ur better off putting a strawberry face kit on it.

    • More photos are up, and the price has been dropped to $16,000. It's just had a service and a new 12V battery, too.
    • I agree on doing some better than factory pistons, rods, and oil pump. For anyone using the vehicle on the road, I don't get why everyone wants big cams. The stock cam profile, with some more lift would be mint for road usage. Everyone going big cams and then wondering why it isn't as responsive in traffic, when they've shifted the torque curve upwards an additional 1000RPM. Make torque, at lower RPM. Sure it's not as cool as claiming "500KW" and revving it to 8,0000RPM, but that same torque 2,000RPM earlier... Then you don't need the extremely high end pistons and rods, and blah blah blah.
    • Personal experience. Those f**kers burn. And are actually a PITA to put out. Next time I walk down the back, I'll snap a photo of what the inside of the bonnet looks like when that thing ignites. PS, powder fire extinguishers are useless on that stuff too as it's fibrous and when it ignites, it starts to pull apart. And you end up just blowing powder through a sieve effectively.   Like the big thing is, if it's fire resistant, it's job is to stop what burning? The METAL above it? It's just to try keep heat off the bonnet paint work.
    • Oh man, sorry, $60.00000000... 😛
    • That's more or less what he meant. What it really means is that you do not have to go full crazy on the build. Don't need the best oil pump, expensive rods & pistons, big cams, etc. You can upgrade whatever you want instead of using stock level items, but you don't have to. Having said that - any time an RB is opened up, if anything is getting replaced, I think the opportunity should be taken to do all the sensible upgrades. Pistons, rods, pump, etc.
