Apparently you can use some "gerney" machine to wash your car at home... any details?

Use a bucket filled with water , u use about 10x as much water than using a hose but they can`t fine u

So... fill the bucket with water... then throw it on ur car... do it again and agauin until its wet? Shampoo it then repeat the bucket throwing?

yeah that would waste more water...

Won't stop me washing my car, smack in my driveway, in full public view with the hose.

I "haven't" been able to do it for MONTHS, but it won't and doesn't stop me doing it.

Well when your neighbours are trees and Magpies... heck you can even create swimming pools!

i hate to break it to u if it doesn`t rain in the next 12months u won`t be washing your car any more as Sydney and Wollongong won`t have any water

It rains here, at my house basically once every 2 weeks.

I have a water tank that basically, we struggle to keep room in! If people were really smart, they'd start to set themselves up now for water storage. Hell, if people on farms can live without a source of water from a big ass company, so can people in the city.

Hence why I have no issues using a hose to wash my car.

Hell, half the time I do about 5 cars in a row, and don't use all that much water out of the tank.

And we won't run out of water. They'll end up pumping it in from the snowies before we run out. That and end up setting up a desalinisation plant.

Id like to quickly point out a few things. The snowy has no where near enough water for all of Australia as thats the problem we are starting to face. A desalination plant is a very small bandaid. Say putting a bandaid on your toe when both of your arms have been cut off. Its also stupidly expencive.

Then the water tank issue. We were orginally from the country, and had 2-3 tanks. Only ever had to buy water once in 10 years. Then we moved to the suburbs, and wanted some small rain water tanks. The council said no as it promotes mosquitoes... Unhealthy etc etc, which is just crap.

Toowoomba is on level 5 as a majority was stupid enough to vote no to recycled water. Which as a fact is 6 star rated water, its TOO clean, they have to put stuff in it before putting it in to the system. The rest of SEQLD is about to go on to level 4...

The only logical solution is recycling the water. Hey its what happens in nature anyway...

It might be a different story down south, but thats the go up here. Yes the little man you pay $15 for uses the same amount of water as you, and hell if he comes round your house to do it he uses YOUR water which YOU then pay for. The buckets just dont work. I personally just dont wash my car now, I might pay the little man to do it once a month in summer just because Im going to be down the beach more and the salt air might become a rust issue.

Washing the car weekly really is a waste of water tho... hence the laws. The idea is buckets is too hard so people wont bother.

99% of the snowy water goes down the Murray so u will have to fight those ppl for that water ,Lake Eucumbene the biggest snowy hyrdo lake it is under 30% it hasn`t been full for 15 years , we do not have enuff power to run a desalinisation unless we build a nuke plant , RAIN is the only answer

It dosen`t matter if it rains in Wollongong or Sydney as all that water goes down the storm water into the ocean , it needs to rain inland

It took me 3 buckets to wash my car over the weekend.. and it's clean enough to lick..

Learn to wash your cars properly! A bucket, proper handwash and chamois dry will work a heap better than using a hose and getting a clean result. All a hose does half the time is wash dirt from one area of the car to another.

p.s. we should all be running nuclear powerplants as well.. the planet is f**ked - it calls for some tough measures. having to wash a car with a bucket..it's one of the least things people are going to have to worry about in the next 50 years.

i read that in vic, u can use high pressure water units - like those karcher ones - thats what I have been using - doesnt use as much as just a standard hose, as most of the dirt is washed away anyway.

I sent an email to melbourne water, but the bastards havent replied yet. Probably planning for the 25 pools they are about to build.... :)

    • Not stock. All remade. Mostly looks stock because the pipes run to and from the standard holes in the inner guard to get to the return flow FMIC. I'm not sure which question you're trying to ask, because it seems like "stock position" vs "stock position".
    • Hey, it's a GT-R, it's just as significant a moment as mine😁 It's not ideal when things are uncertain; I'm the type of person that always has a set plan for things in life so being unsure of this plan puts me in a weird place mentally.
    • Hows your intake piping? Are you still running stock? Having in the stock AFM position would mean, if the BOV was shut/venting out, it'd create the almost stalling kind of effect right // "the rich pulse behaviour" due to MAF thinking air is flowing ? But this would be better than having the bov in the stock position + MAF on/just before cross over piping right?
    • Essentially, yes. Although I wouldn't put the AFM on the crossover pipe. I'd want to put it into what amounts to the correct size tube, which is more easily done in the intercooler pipework. I bought a mount tube for card style AFM that replaces the stock AFM - although being a cheap AliExpress knockoff, it had no flange and I had to make and weld my own. But it is the same length and diameter as the stock RB AFM, goes on my airbox, etc etc. I don't have a sick enough rig to warrant anything different, and the swap will take 5 minutes (when I finally get around to it and the injectors & the dyno tune).
    • So to summarise, the best thing to do is to move recirc to between turbo and IC, and maf on the crossover pipe. Meaning I'd need a recirc flange, drill a hole in the piping on turbo outlet area. And drill hole on crossover to fit/weld maf sensor? Either that or put the MAF on the turbo inlet right?  Is an aftermarket recirc/blowoff valve recommended? Do currently have family in Japan so could probably bring something back with maybe a cheeky lil SuperAutobacs run?
