Removing R32 Door

Hey all,

well ive got my new hinges and its time to change them, wondering if the door will come off without front quarter having to come off first? im sure there is some way of sticking some kinky tool in there to remove the bolts?

Going to change the latch too as thats farked from the door being saggy :<

tips, hints pointers from anyone!

I dont think there is a way mate, but taking the guard off is easy

Did you buy the hinges new from Nissan? How much are they going for?

gotta take the guards off from memory... well i did with mine (mind you we had to take the guards off anyways)... otherwise you run the risk of scratching the paint as you undo the bolts.

I've got a saggy door as well due to my door pin being buggered up by the guys who did the side intrusion bars in my R32 (they took the door off to weld it in). I'll fix it one day... sometime...

fark, nah got good hinges from a wrecker, pretty good nick only like 20bucks...

id take the quarter off only thing is that the side skirt is glued,stuck,stickerflexed on under the front of the drivers side door as it popped off when the wheel guys didnt position the jack properly(was always a bit off anyways) so ive gotta somehow blade through that and get it off....

pain in the backside, but my hinges are getting worse, used to just sag, now the window makes a thud as it shuts totally because it is out of alignment and squeezes the rubber at the top if u get wat i mean.....

Bought new hinges for my R32 from Nissan. Cost $22 each! I was supprised. That's pretty good value and they are new.

If its ok with Norm, bring it round there and ill do it for you, you man the camera, then we can do it like a DIY thread for people

when they come in from nissan ill let ya know stevo... guna be fun gettting the sideskirt off, but def up for the camera action....

One thing I learnt a while ago was to first check the price on a new item before going to the wreckers. Sometimes dealers drop prices to clear stock.

I think that may be the glass inside the door, try putting the window down so the VERY top of it is still visible between the rubber

So if you were to put your arm on the window, you would feel the glass under your arm, see if that helps

Should be easy enough to just swap over cause mines all apart atm (not that the guards are hard to take off anyway)

you should be able to remove the bolts with a spanner, but taking the guard off will give some more room. just replace one hinge at a time, and have someone support the door (or try and position it on something).

i think heysey may be talking about the striker/latch? as you dont need to remove the quarter panel (can't anyway, it's welded) and the side skirt doesn't interfeer with the front guare? if it's the striker you are talking about it just come off with the help of an impact driver.

yeah guards are easy enough to take off... i took mine off the other day to fit the alarm n stuff, but if I had realised the hinge was only $25 from nissan then I would have done it all in one go.

BB the latch is stuffed too from the door hitting it everytime i close it, got a new one waiting to go on, my side skirts go up the front quarter a bit and are pretty well secured on so its good to know i can get it off without removing it...

so spanner, someone to hold it, someone to get the beers and 2 new hinges from nissan and alot of swearing should do the trick you reckon....

group buy on hinges anyone?
