haha, good timing :(

Yeah i was going to say, ive seen what one of these turbos can do to a clutch (broad statement, i know). On a mates one he's gone through a few clutches (twins) and he now has a nismo triple, i drove it last month, and the thing is so solid!

He has the OS 3 speed gearset in it, so every time you stop its like using normal 2nd gear to start off, and it just went off like a normal car as long as you engage it under 2000rpm, which is easy to do, after 15 mins i had it all sorted :(

The (his nismo triple) triple grabs very hard, thats for sure, and wont let go either. He's said he'd rather the OS as its heaps easier to drive

Oh, wait, i just read how much power you're running, dont bother with a twin. The car ive referred to has 330kw atw and it kills twins, if you're running 600+ atw thats like 447kw plus. If there is a twin that takes that sort of abuse (and there probably is) i bet it costs an arm and a leg, and rebuild time would be a wallet killer!!! e.g. the nismo twins are worth around $1500 to rebuild, so cheaper to buy new each time

I dont know anything about the driveability of the carbon exedy one except the cost, but it would be pretty good, still, power.......

Hope this helps you out :(

Talk to Jim Berry @ Italia spares in Stones corner, Brisbane. (07) 38479999 Tell them Deren told you to call. He's got mine at the moment. I think maybe on holiday but his business partner will help you out.

jim berry may build good clutches but i would personally never re-use a standard flywheel (or even worse lightened standard flywheel) with a heavy duty pressure plate/clutch plate combo, especially in a high powered car that does a little drag etc. in this last year alone there have been 2 GTRs I know of that have had this type of combo explode on them. one of their cars is now pretty much completely rooted. the realy miracle is neither of those guys was hurt.

if the standard flywheels are in good condition then there isnt any reason for them to explode. If you go using a flywheel that is warped, cracked etc then youd expect for it to go bang sometime. But to say you wouldnt use a standard flywheel with any heavy pressure plate/clutch is pretty silly.

i just wouldn't that's all, not ever on my GTR. they are not always obviously damaged/heat affected. but the fact is after years of use, then combine that with either lightening, or adding a heavy duty pressure plate, and aggressive friction material or both and you have potential for disaster. not saying it will happen, but the possibilty is there. couple that with decent power, and a few big launches and in my mind it's tempting fate. new flywheels are cheap, or even cheaper if you buy something like an OS/nismo/ORC multiplate.

having seen a number of standard flywheels explode now (not just in GTRs either) is enough for me to not risk it. whether you do is up to you, but seeing a piece of flywheel fly hard enough to penetrate my friends bell housing, trans tunnel, finger and then clean through the roof is enough for me.

just ebay a os-giken twin plate. sprung centre. TS2CD. or bigger. the r3c is a nice clutch but could take some getting used to.

a nismo twin will ware out quickly. dont get an ORC as they get enevan plate ware.

getting a bullshit tripple isnt really nesesary but if ones available go for it. coz it will last alot longer than a twin
