I have been fielding media calls all day about this, will be awesome. Also been appointed to run it again next year, this time I can at least plan it 3 or 4 months in advance, will be able to get alot more radio stations etc involved and morse sponsors to give stuff to you all.

And we all love stuff!

They just didnt give me enough time this year (2 weeks) lol ahhhhhhhhh still gunna be a mad day. Got confirmation today that a few Ford GT40's will be coming as well! Woot :)

Was an AWESOME turnout for the crappy weather.

We registered 512 cars and 76 motorbikes.

WELL DOWN on what we even had pre-registered (we have over 1000 vehicles pre-registered), of course the fast majority that couldn't make it were Hot Rods, roofless, Motorbikes, and Vintages.

Still, it was a great event and I cannot thank you all enough, if you look over the overpasses as we went thru, there were media on pretty much every overpass.

There will be an article in The Sunday Mail tomorrow regarding this as well as National 9 News tonight I belive.

I just want to thank EVERYONE who came, a huge thanks to the volunteer's and the Car Clubs that came.

Kaos car club has a MASSIVE showing, well done guys! So did the WRX club! CruisingBrisbane.com also had a big turn out.

I will update with monies raised, now lets see some pics! (Even WITH the crappy weather!)

That was great guys n gals, wait till next year :yucky:

and no drama's with the police

would be good to see a big turnout from SAu

DATE: Saturday Nov 4th

TIME: 9am for a 10.15am Departure.

LOCATION TO MEET: Beenleigh Tavern Car Park Just off the M1 at Beenleigh.

WHILE YOU WAIT: There will be a Sausage Sizzle, a raffle with some awesome prizes and some vehicle displays.

DESTINATION: Carrara Sports Complex - Nerang Broadbeach Rd - Nerang (Exit off the M1 directly leads to this venue. Exit 69)

ARRIVE: Est 11am.

AFTER YOU ARRIVE: Emerald Lakes Golf Course (Opposite the Carrara Stadium) is having a FUN DAY, it is a GOLD COIN to enter and there is a heap of activities, free drinks (suppiled by Coca Cola) and things to do over at the Golf Course. There will be games for people to play, and prizes to be won, all being organised and supplied by Emerald Lakes Golf Course.

Thats it. It doesnt get much simpler than this, and for such a great cause to support. The reason for this is to get the message of Bravehearts out there in the open more, and for a COMMUNITY to band together and support something. (And by community I mean 'us hoons'.) This is a chance to really make an impact and perhaps, just perhaps change public perception a little bit.

All funds raised from Donations, Raffles, and entry to Emerald Lakes is for the benifit of Bravehearts

The day was NOT the best weather wise but the CRUISE when off with no problem. The greatest anti climax was the absolute lack of SAU members only a few of us, as far as I could see bothered to turn-out. A great shame.

Max

A small side note, every car attending this event will be given a momento to take away to remember the day. Something a little bit different

Thanks for an almost great day...........ONLY the weather was against us.........all other aspects were great.

Just a personal thought: I was the first car after the 200SX, I found that having the quicker cars at the front allowed the front runners to leave the SLOWER cars behind, may be next time you could arrange that the various types of car start at more appropriate positions. is Trucks first then the MONAROs (their slow)((JOKE)) after the trucks general cars going back to the more powerful or in various club order. I drive a SKYLINE and I would have liked to be with the other few shylines, I am sure if the GT40s, or Monaros had have turned up they would like to be together. Just my private view.

As a side issue what was the momento of the day, except for a good cruise???

regards

Max

People don't go to these because you get a lot of idiot's from cruisingbrisbane.com and boostcruising.com that attracted a lot of attention

thats funny as :D you obviously have never been on one of my cruises :D

and max, awesome advice thanks champ, this year was a test pilot for next year, got a heap of good ideas :)

next year, this event goes national.

ahhh the momento was 'supposed' to be a flag signals the days effort, but insead the supplier gave us these weird plastic flags.........they were SUPPOSED to be cloth.

we only took delivery of them friday :O they were crap i know.

    • I would paint match the whole thing to avoid unwanted attention  I had a similar bonnet, paint matched, on my old R33 GTST, but mine was a fibreglass jobbie made by Blitz in QLD, they work extremely well for radiator efficiency and under bonnet temps
    • Does anyone run this kit with factory plenum? Does the adapter and bosch tb fit under factory strut brace? I wanted to get this setup before going forward facing manifold. Thanks
    • small update time, after always wanting a "cool" looking bonnet for my car and always struggling to find one for the series 2 that i liked and wasn't an insane amount of money. Saw one i liked on RHDjapan from D-speed in Japan the price was very good for a carbon bonnet so good infact i was a little unsure how much i trusted it, decided to bite the bullet and with the help of jesse streeter in not long at all it was at my door. Once it was delivered i ran in from work and quickly unboxed it and to my surprise the quality was actually pretty good i quickly removed the old bonnet and placed on the new one to test it out and even the fitment wasnt too bad at all. Then decided to paint the little grille in the bonnet black to stop it sticking out so much.   I decided to not mess around with the hood latch and just install some aero catch hood pins, having never installed them before did some YouTube university classes and i was good to go. fair to say it is not a fun job at all from making brackets so the pins sit nicely and actually cutting through the bonnet but also being very scared of cutting the holes too big it took wayyyy longer than i would like to admit but finally got it there. Then it was time for a quick test drive to ensure the latches actually worked and thankfully the bonnet looked very stable. I still think paint matching the bonnet and leaving just the part that sticks up as carbon would help make it all look alot neater as im not sure how i feel about all that carbon on a very fridge white car but will leave it as is and see how i feel with time.
    • I think it's bound to happen, you finally get it all perfect, and bam, something will happen. I took a while to get a Commodore rear quarter repaired where a P Plater clipped it. Two days after getting it back, Sarah wiped it out on a concrete pillar in an underground car park... This is why I take forever to repair them, it stretches how long until it gets bent again... 😛
    • Nah, not really responsible for that little fiasco, but I'm still pissed at myself for writing off my 86, or when I reversed my VX into a pole just before selling it, but, meh, 5hit happens to stuff, all it takes is a slight distraction, and life is full of distractions, and "dooh" moments
