As I recently been reamed myself by QLD's finest wanker cop (thats what I call him) - officer M. Little (first name Michael) for stupid reasons listed on the defect notice, i'm in the process of actually taking my 2x fines and defect notice through the courts.

As the story goes....

Was standing at BP fuel station filling up on Logan Road at Underwood area and I asked the cop as he was walkin back to his car after paying if he was a traffic cop. I then proceeded to ask about the new laws that they are bringing in, in regards to people under the age of 25 not being allowed to have a high powerful car such as these imports, etc.

Of course the wanker decided to be breif and quick to answer the question along with wanting to jump to every cops favourite question "can you pop the hood so I can have a look?".

As I did because I knew I had nothing to hide under it, he decided to look, tell me I had a few problems with the car and then talk utter bullshit to me about the mods that I've done to my car. Stating that the BOV I have is NOT allowed along with the air pod also not being allowed because its open and not within a box as a cop would see that it is a requirement for pods/filters to be in one.

He then asked me to head in, make payment for my fuel and then to come back. The cop decided while I was inside paying for the fuel, he would jump in his car and start to go through the book they carry with the list of codes and descripts for defects and fines that they can write out. I stood around for about 20-30mins waiting for this dipshit to get out and let me go.

Instead, he's in the car writting out fines and then comes over and talks to me, handin me the fines. While thats happening, he said "ok, so lets go over your car and talk about these notices". So, we did.

I simply stated to him that

a) you can not defect me for the BOV because there is no emission testing here in QLD and that atmospheric BOV's are allowed. BTW, QLD Transport have confirmed this statement for me. However, cops can fine you for undue noise or somethin in regards to noise.

b) it cops like you who put myself and other fellow car "hoons" as you proudly call us through defect stations not only wasting our time going through them, but also the time the engineers need to spend going over our cars when at the defect station because you clearly dont know what your talking about.

c) my exhaust meets all requirements and the 90db level.

After making these statements, of course the cop was not to happy with me nor was he happy that he actually then knew he was dealing with someone who knew what they were talking about.

The cop made the statement several times "I shouldnt have to be going over your car, your a nice bloke and all and I shouldnt have to put you through the inspection station but I just got to". Why did he make this statement?

Clearly cause before he wrote those fines and defect notice out, he thought he was actually dealing with someone that didnt know anything about what he wrote out on the defect notice.

I then made the statement to him "ok, so the fact I went through the inspection station approximately 4-5wks ago and your fellow officers and qld transport decided to rape us "hoons" that you call us at milton macca's on a thursday night and not defect me for the defects you just given me makes qld transport incompitent then, does it?"

he then said something along the lines that there are laws and regulations in place that I have to follow.

I said to him "well, it seems as though you cops have your own laws and qld transport have their own". After that, he still wasnt to happy with me.

I said "look, your clearly not very well trained up on this, you've wasted enough of my time. Goodbye and cya in court".

We then walked away from each other, I jumped in the car and just took off.

Lucky for me of course, my father is a lawyer. I went straight to his, passed the fines onto him letting him know that I'm taking this to court cause I knew perfectly well that I'm in the clear. My father then asked how do I know if im in the clear. Well, I told him that "before I carry out any modification on my car, I ring QLD Transport and ask to be put through to the modification department to ask questions about what I want and can do before doing them".

So, I booked a time within the 7day period from the date the defect notice was issued to me with QLD transport to go through the inspection station.

Went through the inspection station on the 13th of Sept. The car was given the green light to everything.

The fella's at QLD transport even stated that I'm the 2nd person to go through their pits that week because of this cop. The guys looked at the defect notice and I could just see the anger in them towards this cop.

Today, my father lodges the applications for this to go through the courts after we wrote them a friendly letter 3wks ago asking if they would dismiss the fines based on QLD transport clearing the car of any defects.

So far, the defect notice can be dismissed as one of the 4 statements state

"Check that the car complies with all legisilation".

Well the law also states that he has to state on the defect notice what legisilation I am to comply with. Since he has not done this, I have grounds to win this case.

We have 2 grounds to win this case

1) no listing of the legisilation laws that i've broken.

2) a written notice from QLD transport that I was given the all clear and green light on the day I was sent through the pits.

Of course, the cop will throw it back at us that i have a atmospheric BOV and no box around the air pod. QLD transport have happily stated that the BOV is allowed and a box is not required but did suggest I have one just so the cops have 1 less thing to pick on me about.

Photo's were taken when being issued the defect notice and fines.

I'll be taking photo's of course the day before court to show the judge that the engine bay is still in the same tact is was on the day i was issued the fines, etc.

later on down the track.......

Since the community has a right to submit a request for a law to be changed. I'll be making a submission both to the courts and parliment with my fathers suppose to have the law removed from the cops in regards to handing out defect notices if they think the car is defectable.

the cops use and abuse this power and law way to much and its time someone actually stood up, fight this law and have it altered or removed and since no one else is willing to do it, i'm up for the challenge!

I'll keep everyone up to date with the progress of this!

it would be nice if qld police lost the power to defect, and qld transport had more defect stations

also, milton got raided a month ago? i thought the cops were sick of that place, as are the hoons? the odd thursday i'm at milton it's always empty, how odd

yeh, bout 3 or 4 months ago, everyone got raped there.

there would of been a easy 1 to 200 cars there that night too.

after all the post on cb and bc.... the majority of the people were way more happier to deal with qld transport as the cops had no say in defecting people.

qld transport just issued a defect notice with the request to have the defects cleared up within 2wks. no money involved which made everyone happy.

the first thursday night they did it I was put through. fortantly for me, I was the 5th or 6th person to go through.

We were all just standing around, I was filling up, then about to drive out. Cops rocked up, blocked off all entries and then i was escorted to the defect station by 3 cops bikes and i was told if i did a runner, i'd be issued with a $200 or $250 fine or whatever it was.

SURELY THEY SIMPLY CANNOT DO THAT!!

That has got to be harrasment!!!

They tried a similar thing up here in Cairns and alot of people just drove straight around em(where possible) or simply told the cops to go and get a warrent...

there were about 20 or so cars and we just stuck up for each other... As soon as they stuck there heads under ant bonnet, they had like 40 people going Na mate that is Ok etc etc.... They onlt defected 2 cars and they both had bald tyres....

b*stard c0ps!!!!!!!!!

its against the law to run from the cops, hence the threat to issue a fine if i did do a runner. QLD transport have full rights to look under your bonnet and/or car. QLD Transport have more power then cops when it comes to things like this.

I knew I had a couple of defects on the car (the front indicator lights were not connected and my 2 gauge pillar and my air pod not being secured). I also found out that my reverse lights were not working and your not allowed to use zip ties to secure a number plate.

This was all easily fixed though and like i said, no money involved as qld transport were happy to hand out just a defect notice with 2wks to have it all fixed which i did.

I understand that it is against the law to run, but he never pulled you over in the first place.... I thought that you asked him a few q's and that was when he started to write out the fines...

I know that QLD transport have the authority to look under the bonnet, but i don't believe that the cops have the same rights.....

f**k I HATE THAT WANKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

he did the same sh!t to me..

it'll be okkkkaayyyyyyyy!!!!

we are going to question the judge on the ability this cop seems to have in regards to handing out fines and defects after he has received training from qld transport to hand these types of fines/defects then also question the judge exactly how many other defects and/or fines he's handed out are incorrect and if he should remain within the traffic force.

be good to see this cop go through the chains of degrading to desk duty! thats for sure.

that would be HOT!

I have 2 incorrect defect notices that were given 2 weeks apart for similar things.. do you need them?

I got to go give some more paper work (modification rules that QLD transport gave me) to my dad tonight. I'll ask if having other people who received incorrect defect notices from this cop will help out with anythin.

will let ya know!

f-ing awesome, btw how what right does the cop if ya fillin up for petrol at the servo round the corner from me, have just walk along and say open ya bonnet, and yeah hope you bring this cop and people like him a lesson, ass mungers from hell,

Good luck and if ya win that will be even better.

i got a defect notice and all it said was "defective vehicle" is that what your talking about?

lol! dude, they got to list what the defect actually is on the defect notice they gave you.

if they dont, then take it to court cause for all you know, you could be payin and loosin a point for a defect that you dont even know what your being defected for.

them telling you is not enough as it needs to be written on the defect notice itself.

    • Yep, yeah would need to do the flywheel although the 6 bolt NA clutch can handle a 20de if just wants to replace the stocker.
    • No it's fine. Heat sleeve is a thing. With oil running through it it is unlikely. Engine off heat soak can be a thing though. There is no way that you have a leak through the hose. That has pressure behind it and any small hole will turn into a large one in very short order. It is so much more likely to be leaking from the connection.
    • Really? That's piss weak. I didn't know they hobbled the shitboxen that badly. OK. So probs need to buy a flywheel too. But that's not too bad.
    • Hi all. I already posted some newbie-ish questions here and there but this will be my first "big" post. Last summer I went and fulfilled a kind of childhood wish, because I just thought I needed this experience in my life no matter what. The car I bought is a mildly modded 1995 BCNR33 Vspec. It was repainted to a metallic orange color all around and it had all windows reseated. Not so well done black respray in the trunk and a metallic black in the engine bay. From outside it looks very nice except for a minor paint error on the roof and the rear spats needing new adhesive tape. The inside is pretty clean and no broken plastics, missing or faded buttons. Even the adjustable mirrors and trunk antenna work like a charm. Despite a moderately long list of issues I don't (yet) regret buying this car. Most mechanical problems are just due to age, like worn rubbers here and there. The underside sadly has lots of corrosion, especially to the back. It looks like it either has been driven in the winter for a while or it lived near the saltwater in Japan, the rust is nothing terrible but it'll require to be looked after. Mostly panel gaps and all the mounted components underneath are a bit crusty, but I don't think anywhere has progressed so badly that there's going to be holes. Front right jacking rail is crushed and needs some care so it doesn't develop into a rust crater at some point. Worst part is definitely the strut towers. I thought they looked fine but after taking off the strut bar I noticed that it actually started bulging up on the passenger side. Probably would have passed on the car or negotiated down by some thousand Euros more if I had noticed this before buying, but here we are. Trunk area also has signs that there was a water leak to the interior once but nothing too crazy, I guess lots of Skylines had this at some point. As for the list of (known) issues, I'll try to make this compact. I hope the coloring is self explanatory. Mechanical: -Various busted or soon-to-be busted rubber bushings and ball joints. Will replace ball joints with OEM or better and bushings with polyurethane where possible. -Shaking steering wheel at above 80kph -downshift from 5th to 4th is a bit crunchy unless I rev-match, might just try to renew the shifter assembly, but it's not a priority issue -tailshaft centre bearing could use a replacement, is it worth going 1-piece tailshaft as it doesn't look too fresh all around? Chassis: -underbody corrosion on many spots and in hollow spaces, needs to be treated -corrosion on many bolts, hoses, lines, suspension components, subframes, will be treated when replacing of the bushings is needed as time goes on -strut tower top panels and some of the surrounding panels are rusty, so needs fixing. Will look into doing this with a buddy in the winter, otherwise bite the bullet and pay a professional -driver side door is misaligned to the body and needs to go a slight bit more inwards -both door windows are misaligned and have an airgap where the window meets the door at the B pillar -The Aerocatch latches for the bonnet have locks but no keys, need new keys. -driver side door window is kind of gritty and could use a polish -damaged jacking rails and front frame rails, from people lifting the car the wrong way, might have this fixed by a bodyshop Electrical: -Nismo tachometer is just bouncing and displaying nonsense, supposedly worked fine when the stock ECU was still in the car -An old Greddy boost controller sits on the dash which will be removed as it servers no purpose anymore. -a led segment rpm gauge is on the steering column, will probably also be (re-)moved once the Nismo tacho is working correctly -there was an attempt to make the sound system better by the previous owner but it was just inducing noise all the time, ripped out the amp and filters in the back, no music for now -trunk antenna goes up as long as the radio is on regardless of the mode, I want it to only rise if I choose Radio specifically or per switch -3rd brake light is a bit dimmer than the taillights but everything was converted to LEDs so mabye now it just seems dimmer? -reverse light flickers, have to test if that behavior changes when I fiddle with the gear stick. Hope I can get around changing the switch. -Left side taillight, blinker section has minor water intake and is humid after washing. Other side has a hole in it, probably for that exact reason. I'll probably reseal them entirely and plug the holes. Engine: -minor coolant drips on one or the other hose -rear turbo leaks oil onto the exhaust making the car essentially undriveable due to fire hazard -Oil filter relocation kit has an oil drip at the Dash lines, will probably make a new connection there and tighten real good and pray -throttle body assembly is slightly stuck for the first throttle pedal input after sitting for a while I'm always open to suggestions and advice from more experienced people, I'm sure half of this list is easily dealt with and just requires some time and effort to sort out properly. Once I have some proper pictures of the car I will post some in this thread, I just have to remember to take some more once I get the chance to. Will post updates when I have news on anything, I want to try to keep this thread as kind of a logbook as well. Ultimately my goal for this car is to just enjoy it. An engine rebuild is probably going to happen sometime as well, because it is old after all. It will never be fully new again, I am just not that rich. But I want it to look good, work well and not rot away while I drive it. I'm probably gonna spend a lot of money on this journey, hopefully not an unreasonable amount.
    • Hi all. So one of my major issues at the moment is my rear turbo leaking oil on the exhaust (and the general area). I presumed it was the rock hard super old drain hose, which it was not. So now I am in the midst of removing the rear turbo to get access to the banjo bolt that goes into the turbo oil feed. As one of the previous owners accidentally? tore off the OEM oil feed hardline that reaches behind the turbo, they ran braided lines directly to the turbo, presumably PTFE. Now, regardless if the line has rubber or teflon inside, is it just generally a bad idea to do this? I imagine these lines get quite hot being between the engine, turbo core and exhaust manifold. I suppose it's not too far fetched to think the line may even have melted. I'd love to hear your opinions on this as as the replacement OEM hardline piece is 130 per unit. And cutting open the currently mounted line to see inside will mean I just have to get a replacement either way. So far I am hoping maybe the bolt just loosened or (god forbid) they forgot one of the crush washers.
