lol love the pun

'the cop copped a warning'

haha

i dont think superior's like seein or knowin that they've lost a case due to handin out stupid fines.

it does cost the cops to run things through the courts, etc which in turn eats into the qld police budget.

might be a few hundred $$'s but thats a few hundred $$'s they couldnt spend on those bullets they need to protect commonwealth people when visiting.

Somewhat true, but the poilce take everything to court, regardless of cost. A few hundred dollars is nothing! In this case the officers superiors would probably have said "bad luck, be a bit more careful next time and give him undue noise" and left it at that, i've had many dealings with police and police prosecutors including a family member who was an inspector. The police rarely get in trouble for incorrectly handing out traffic fines. It takes something much worse for an officer to be diciplined. Anyone can take their fine to court and get off, but thinking you're having an effect on the police is diluted, it takes serious misconduct to have an officer diciplined. At the end of the day they don't like losing cases, but it just teaches them to be more careful and tactful in handing out fines. Things such as the anti-hoon legislation keep coming in to aid the police in this war against "hoons", you can get off your fine but you can't stop their cause, it's backed by consensus public policy and that's all that matters.

  • 1 year later...

Mr-Toy33 i'm going to put you up the top of my hero list just above superman!!!

It about time someone stood up to the cops i think that the average joe would have no idear about the law and would pay the fine/take the defect but it good to see a cop get his own handed to him... my mate got targeted by a cop took it to court and won... had something like 8 fines lost his licence got it back and lost 4 points again then decided to take it to court told them that every fine was from this same cop.

Would be good to see this law changed... Tell me where to sign!!!

    • Last year I got a set of MCA street coilovers for my turbo Forester after my son hitting a concrete gutter/wall on a small bridge causing the whole drivers side suspension to get bent because the rain just made the car slide out I love them, I think they were $2400. even had a hiccup of have the wrong hub configuration (my fault) so got onto MCA and they sent the correct shock ends overnight parts from QLD, for free!  I was very impressed with their customer service and quality of the product
    • They've had some weird failures on their brake actuators. One of them was because they added some kind of lubricant to the factory fill brake fluid that aftermarket brake fluid didn't have so it would affect the seals. Another was just mysterious, probably internal corrosion or something eating away at Prius brake actuators. Parts alone for those are a few thousand USD so not a cheap fix.

    • KYBs are typically twin tube, putting them in the lower tier of desireability. Do you just want to replace worn out ones for the lowest cost? I mean, you wouldn't just replace one end of a car, if the rears are a similar age to the fronts, then they are probably nowhere near what they should be, and likely won't be great against brand new fronts. So, to spend ~$800 on 2nd tier dampers, when you could get a decent set of MCA coilovers for <$4k.....? As to the strut tops. 1st up, the Sparesbox site specifically tells you that they are not correct for an R33. Beyond that, why do you think you need them?
