My father spent a lot of his working life, working for and running company’s in America. I’ve spent my fair share of time living in California, I spell and genuinely pronounce words like American’s.

I like how “Die hard Ozzies” get so worked up over it. I’d be more concerned over the Moslems wearing those stupid hoods and so forth.

Pretty sure arrogant yanks, myself included aren’t going to change how we type to suit convicts.

I suppose, people with exclusives private school up bringing's who are taught how to pronounce words correctly are wrong too, seeing they don’t speak bogan?

Yall go hushin up there now pupper aforin I open a can of whoopass onya :spank:

When in rome?

Christ the arogance... What the hell is wrong with a public schools education? I know plenty of people who went through the private school systems who are bogans, couldnt read, write or add up to save themselfs and work in mcdonalds as a career. Woo store manager. Whats more their parents slaved to get them that education, when they could of gotten a better, cheaper one out of the public system.

But I tell you what, ill spell it colourful and be a bogan, you can spell it colorful and be a redneck.

your joking about whats wrong with public schools aren't you? The kids that got through the private schools and couldn't read, write or add up must have had parents with a lot of money, as most of the respectable schools would of kicked them out at the first opportunity. It reflects badly on the school to have bogans/dumbasses there. Problem with the public schools are usually:

a) The teachers aren't as good, why? they get payed less, makes sense that the better teachers go to private schools and hence get payed more. Fact.

b) In public schools the classes are all mixed whether your smart or hopeless hence the bogans try to distract the class, therefor less learning.

c) Bogans can be kicked out of public schools for no reason, this doesn't and cannot occur in public schools.

Note that this isn't always the case and there are probably quite a few decent public schools...

Long story short, private schools ftw.

My point wasn’t public school education is bad, my point was some of the elite private schools in Australia teach correct pronunciation.

I’m well aware there are many very wealthy public school educated people (All bar still a monitory), and some very poor private school educated people.

I lived in corona del mar, in southern California, not really a “red neck” area.

We could dispute this all day, however my original piss take has hit some soft spots, so perhaps best if we all agree to disagree.

Cops wasnt it? or was it beating the system that can crush you like a gnat?

I can relate to cops, not that I would be one, because when I was an AJ I tended to think in a f**ked way, that was, civilians are dumbarsed sheep and really have no idea, and thank god for that, otherwise we would be like Lebanon, but I could at the time, see the same attitude in the police that I dealt with, not all of them think that way but the one that John stumbled upon and others probably do too, point is they do a hard job and some dont handle it they way they should, we the public have to deal with it, and by brushing this one under the carpet as such, the cop will not be seen as a licensed thug.

Dam man...makes u wander "if only I hadnt approached the copper in the first place..."

All i know for sure is that air pods are LEGAL under the condition that they are not loose and are clamped down reasonably well...

BOV's are also legal but yes....cops do tend to use the noise pollution excuse

As for the copper....dam he musta been a real wanker, his obviously not doin his job properly and is taking the law under his own hands....but mostly jus a wanker with sirens and uniform

if I were in ur shoes at the time...I woulda jus drove off after payin for the fuel and pretended u forgot bout him...not like he had pulled u over for anythin so there was no need for u to stick around...but i suppose if my farther was a lawyer then I woulda stuck around aswell

Sorry, I know that we've moved on but: This thread is in Queensland/Australia. Hence Aussie spelling, nuff said.

(P.s. I get the irony of the fact I wrote nuff etc.)

Mr Toy, what's happening on the private front of going after this police officer you were talking about?

Also, are you getting all your expenses/legal bills etc paid for?

Also wonderd this.

Although im 99% positive of what the outcome was of this as its relatively impossible to regain costs from a dispute with the crown or sue an officer civily, entertain me.

Also entertain me with how the whole "getting the police powers laws changed" is going.

    • Well some mostly good news and some slight bad news.  Good news is cylinder 6 did in fact only require a honing and I'm good to run my 86.5mm pistons again. I should also get the block back by end of week. Bad news, had a few surprises pop up. First, main and rod bearings were trashed. No sign of any heat damage. I knew right away what caused this... I had not packed my oil pump originally and spent a lot more time than I would have liked cranking the motor to get oil pressure. It sounded fine once started so I chucked it up to luck and forgot about it. Luckily rod and crank are fine and just need new bearings. Engine builder agreed that this was the cause.    Another surprise that carbon covered up very well that I didn't catch, something got sucked up and went through cylinder 1, 2 and 3. Luckily this was no cause for concern, just needed a bit of cleaning up. Valves look fine but he will vacuum test the head this week to confirm. I'm presuming this was something left over from welding my intercooler piping, but we'll never know. I'm going to thoroughly reclean everything.    So all in all, happy the motor is fine, and I'll get it back much sooner than expected. I'll also be taking the time to convert my WMI system over to direct port. I'll snap some pictures of that when the parts come in.
    • I understand, thanks. Yeah I wouldn't want the car to tip over, I'll try and use the sills, I don't want to risk smashing the chassis rails. I ordered some rubber pucks that have a hopefully big enough slotting. If the front right gives me trouble I can always just make a wood block. I'll measure and inspect the sills closer once I actually take the car up. I hope so, but the rubber blocks I had in hand so far were pretty damn firm, if they are that hard they won't give much way. I'll let you know what happens. Angle grinding rubber isn't one of my favorite tasks. I'll probably start a build thread soon, for my own documentation and "log" as well as sharing what's going on with the car.
    • Kinda something I have been thinking about.  To be honest, we bought it already driving like that.  So there's no telling how long it actually has been driving like this.  Hopefully damage is too bad when we drop the pan.   I am having a hard time finding a site that sells the solenoid for the 5 speed auto, do you have any suggestions?
    • That'll be most likely down the road...  LOL
    • a stock / option or aftermarket?
