CEF11E
all thew jap tunes I have downloaded from various ECU's as roy says dismiss the AFM and just tune with a wideband at full throttle.= really bad idea on the first cold day and hitting boost as the air is denser and you will run lean and bang... yep you can change the scale in a PFC but you need to know what to change it to increasing the dia of an AFM can give you a percentage but I bet it will be wrong at certain points. The old put an RB20 sensor in line after the cooler in a 3"dia pipe will give you enough res to make the car idle if you change the base 6 or 7 figures in the VQ to read less than 1.0 volts but at cruise it will run like shit. not a good idea for a street car. chrissso
quote bu cef11e but usually it is cheaper to buy a $300 unit than pay a tuner another couple of hours. Absolutly true, and I would buy tyhe z32, however, it's good to discuss this. I think if someone did a mod to a maf, one that could be accuratly redone by someone else, and then the VQ values worked out, tested, and then posted on here, it might make a cheaper alternaltive. However, I am a believer in the do it once, do it right philosophy and a Z32 would be for me. But again, I like the discussion. quote by animatter I know I am at 5.1v at about 5000rpm on my GTR - tune becomes 2 dimensionsal after that.... Seems to work ok as my AFR still hovers around 12 all the way to rev limit and driveability is very good... I am just looking for an "outside the box" approach to giving the air flow meters more capacity... I am told that after the MAF maxes out, the ECU tunes by MAP, RPM and throttle position. Heresay though. Thanks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/139283-air-flow-meter-electronic-modification/page/2/#findComment-2605573 Share on other sites
Antimatter
I know this is an old topic - but would still love to see a "how to hot up your AFM" FAQ... I'll donate some AFM's and dyno time if someone thinks they can do it.... quote bu cef11eAbsolutly true, and I would buy tyhe z32, however, it's good to discuss this.
