Ok as the title suggests....I just want to get an idea of what sort of power some of the GTTs around here are making and also if they have left the motor internally stock ?

So basically a power figure and mods (especially internals)

Im a little bit worries as when my new turbo goes in a week or two I will be aiming for around 270ish rwkws the turbo can handle over 300 easy but I dont wanna push it with the stock internals.

I have spoken to a few R33 owners running around this much and 1.2 or 18spi boost with an unopened engine and well for all of them so far so good

Would it be safe to run these sort of boost levels on a NEO ?

Reason I ask is cause I always thought that the NEOs had slightly higher compression...which wouldnt like that much boost going through it..

any help would be appreciated...

Hey Shonen, You have my number :P.

Compression ratio on NEO's and non NEO's are both 9:1 so no difference there.

Are you putting cams in? CAMS will lower your dynamic compression ratio and raise your detonation threshold. They also help you by making the power you want with less boost.

As long as you keep a close eye on your knock levels you should be fine. Learn how to knock a couple of degrees out of the timing on hot days with the PFC.

The other thing is to make sure your boost is stable and not overboosting. If something isn't quite right, think hard before you touch anything.

I would have to say that with all the messing around with my car lately, if I didn't already have forgies then I would have blown my engine at some other point anyway.

This is because I fiddle and do some work myself.

hahhaa adam I wish I could put in cams.....but the budget has blown past 6k on parts alone even without touching the head...

Im just hoping to run some decent boost...no more than 15psi and get some decent power for now until I can open up the engine and go all out on it...

The higher compression myth was worrying me a little bit..thanks for clearing that up !

hey shonen,

so what turbo are u getting...?

ohh and im running 8.9:1 comp ratio and no problems but bloody responsvie..

cheers

I've currently got

Tomei type B Poncams

GCG Highflow

8.75:1 CR

Nismo 480cc injectors

Quiet 3" exhaust

Panel filter in stock airbox

262rwkw with boost dropping off to 14psi across the revs. In other words at peak power I am only putting about 15 psi in to it.

I think it's my stock actuator, so adjustable HKS one going in and hope to hold about 17 or 18 psi. Not sure what power this will get me. Maybe another 10rwkw, maybe none.

haha Mario im not going crazy ass big like you :)

just a high mount HKS setup :)

Let me take a crack, GT3037?

With a good conservative tune, and fuel system thats up to the task you shouldnt have a problem tumnus, as long as your engine is in good health
