That Quote is a load of shit, you know where you can stick that! I drive a nissan Patrol and a skyline you shouldnt stereo type 4WD owners just cos of 1 dickhead on the road. There are just as many people in hotted up cars as there is 4WD on the road. Besides I sort of feel where your coming from RONIN my wife was side swiped twice in 2 weeks by a van and a 4WD and she was in a VL commodore and she was pregnant with my first, I hope your daughter is ok chin up mate.
I said: "pretend fourbies" - see below; and "the dickheads that choose to drive them for their high driving position". I am pointing to one distinct group here. Explain how this is generalising all 4WD owners.

"Pretend fourbies" are the ones that are basically a car with a bit more ground clearance, or "real" fourbies that are purchased with no intention of using them for anything more than bullying other road users or to compensate for a complete lack of ability to pay attention/show courtesy. I did NOT say anything about ALL 4WDs, I drive a fourbie myself from time to time in fact, so insinuating that I am "stereotyping 4WD owners just cos of 1 dickhead" is plain ridiculous.

Next time you choose to attack someone's post, make sure you've at least read it properly, otherwise - to use your own term - I'm sure you know where you can stick your comments.

thanks for your support and input everone,

Is there anyone on Vic willing to have a go at fixing the damage?

will post pixs in the morning.

:P

You have his plate details obviously....

Providing all goes well with the police ask your insurance company to obtain the drivers details from the police. They should be able to cover the fix you up without any out of pocket expense.

Glad you and your daughter are fine.

I've been hassled once driving to the oldies with my other half in the car;

I didn't have the time to stuff around so I didn't provoke at all, not one little bit, they went to over take pulled up side by side and swung a base ball bat; I dropped it back left them for dead. They then went to over take; I slowly brough my speed up holding them on the opposite side of the road, let them catch a little then as they got side by side I slammed the brakes and hit the side street as they were locking the brakes up trying to pull up; did 3 more quick right turns and turned back out on to the main road and drove to the oldies. :)

I think they were idiots as it was a bad area + I was driving on the speed limit and they were for what ever reason in a massive rush dropping wheelies etc behind me. They were in a VN dunga door I was in my mildly worked (ecu, cam exhaust) VS 5ltr 5speed that had a super weak drive line.

I had a good chuckle over that one.

next time just pull over man, dont risk your life or your daughter's life over a prick...

be nice ppl...

Totally agree... copy down plates, stop the car. Screw endangering your daughters life over some toorak tractor wanker.

I dont know if this has been mentioned but since you have his plates, call up your insurer and launch a faultless claim with police statement.

Seconded.

If you've got full comprehensive the insurance company can and will chase him down.

fkn awesome that u and ur daughter are alright...fkn tools seriously. will have a look out..and will let my mates know about this 4x4..

anywayz take it easy dude, hope all is well now, and these cops will do their job properly for once and take diz ass off the road..before someone else does

man so glad your daughter and you are ok. People are just getting crazier and crazier. I had a woman intentionally slam or her brakes twice on the highway to get me to slam up her ass and force me oof the road and change lanes on top of me when i tried to pass. I was in a little 4 cylinder hatch back so i would have been killed for sure, but i had my 9 month pregnant wife with me. Lucky I recognised the woman, and know everything about her. That was days ago and I'm still fired up about it. I'm not form your area so i coul be wrong but I'm sure you skyline would have been much quicker than a 3 tonne 4wd why hang around in a situation like that espically if you have loved ones in the car? Even though i wasn't particually scared in the situation i was in I took off and kept going and took the nearest exit ot get the hell out of there just to keep my wife and unborn child safe - not that speeding was safe but much safer than the situation behind me.

I HATE 4wds ALSO!!!

A while back now, i had some 4wd merge into my lane without looking and hit my side door.. Im like WTF.. Im slow down hes goes behind me. IM like he must be pulling over.. So i signaled with my hand to follow me, coz we were on the main rd, and there was a side street up ahead.

He follows me till i turn, and quickly drives off.. My mum was in the car screaming. coz i was seriously was gonna race after him.. But there was to much traffic as well to get back onto the main rd etc etc..

Mum saw a police station ahead and reported it. But since we didnt get his plates, there was nothing we could do.

BAstards in thre 4wd. Lucky i was in the camry that day also!! If it was the skyline.. OMg i dont know what i would have done.

So thats my rant..

Plus we had a huge bill to repair the door etc etc.. and everything else that was cracked inside..

But seriously people cant just become clam when they are in a situation like that. To those who mentioned if you would have just let it go, you could have avoided it. STUFF THAT!! He chipped his windscreen. Cost money.. I would have done the same..

Easy to say be calm...

if its minor things like someone cuttin you off. fair enough you can let it go. But not when someone damages your property!!

jesus people are so quick to band all 4wd owners as arogant pricks but gee you get upset when people go on about guys in performance cars particularly young drivers. i personally own both so im not sure where i fit in to the picture here but in my opinion many many performance car drivers respect their cars and their capabilities as do the majority of 4wd owners hey my patrol is 2.5 tons and isnt good in the cornering department but hey i respect that and drive it acordingly and so does the wife we have had the patrol for 6 years never had an incident in it or damaged anyone elses cars .obviously you get cockheads in any sort of car that give the majority a bad name.......guys no disrespect intended to anyone here just felt i had to have my say...... regards mike

I have really bad road rage problems and i myself sometimes disrespect road rules..........I know i have problems serious ones...and im not happy about it anger in me cannot be controlled on the roads but ca be at work and home usually. Eg one scenario a 4WD woman didnt put indicator on when turning in front of in a round about as i was going striaght so i assumed she was going striaght and i went through with caution next thing i see her face light up with anger so i wind my window down screaming "YOU FU%$EN FAT SL&^ OF A WH$#E" extremely loud seems as though i cant exactly punch a woman.......... are there any anger classes can take coz i admit my problem freely and it is a REAL PROBLEM

Good to see not much damage was done to your car mate! skylines are tough bastards

doesnt matter what car they drive, i just hate the tools that drive them. when someone has a brain fart infront of me i just shake my head, mumble some obsanities to myself, maybe give them a good look, take a deep breath and get over it. i recon flipping the bird is one of the most offensive gestures you can give another driver and i never do it. there are big headed crazy people out there with easily bruised egos that just want an excuse like that to go ken bruce on ya.

glad to hear everyones alright. i always turn up my safety dial and tool radar up a couple knotches whenever theres kids in the car.

P.S. tomk, at least you accepted that you have a problem which is a start =)

I have to ask tho, any reason at all that she was jumping on the brakes? Had you been maybe sitting a bit close, maybe had your highbeams on without knowing it... Maybe cut her off a few days ago and she was still fired up?

Point is people dont bite until they are given a reason to, that lady seriously did not do that for NO reason.

I love these storys hey.

Having driven one of these myself, I can tell you that they would easily smoke a lightly modified skyline on the highway specially if its still got a factory speed limiter. Getting into an even HIGHER speed incident isnt gonna do any good for him or his daughter... pull the f**k over... if the guy has a metal bar n beats you down, take it like a man and f**k him over in court. He'll end up paying for your new investment property and at least your little girl is okay. No excuse for endangering kids... one thing that REALLY gets up my nose.

They are around 2.3 tonnes and 0-100 in some where around the 9sec bracket.

So it wouldn't exactly smoke a stock R33 GTST that runs 0-100 in the 6's and the 1/4 in low to mid 14's.

Are we talking acceleration here....? no he was on the highway :) rolling start is a different kettle of fish my friend.

Plus I think you totally missed the point... higher speeds arent helping anyone let alone a defensless 15 month old.

Nope, I didn't miss the point; I completely ignored it. I was talking about the 2.3tonne 4wd 'easily' smoking a lightly modded gtst.

lol its only 230kw....

A mild R32 or R33 throws out almost that power with just an exhaust and a little boost yet weighs 1tonne less.

So either your R32 has a few issues or your still running near stock boost. :)

My little old R32 RB20DET running 1bar with an exhaust and fmic used to run to 180km/h in a shade under 14secs. I highly doubt 230kw 2.3tonnes would keep with that. Hell my uncles 250kw HSV Manual and his mates 280kw HSV Auto couldn't keep with it and they both are lighter than that 2.3tonne thing.

Yeah she was travelling in the right hand lane doing 90km\h just in front of a car in the left hand lane (more than enough room to merge) in a zone signed as "keep left unless over taking" and i flashed her with my headlights to let her know myself the 3 cars behind me were behind her as we had followed her for nearly 2km. So yes i did provoke her by flashing my headlights .... Either way she attempted to intentionally cause an accident which was totally uncalled for.

You all seem to be having so much fun here - I hate to point this out... but the VW Toureg holds the current high altitude record for a standard car.

OK - as you were...

lol.

While it took more than a week for Zietlow and company to reach the top, the descent took a mere three hours.

but no wonder.

Slowly but surely, the green-gray Touareg clambered up the mountainside, encountering rocky terrain, snow, volcanic sand, and boulders so large, they needed to be removed by winch. Too add to this, there were times where the trail reached an 80 percent gradient! At a height of 16,400 feet above sea level, the crew was given oxygen tanks.

    • I get into huffs with people when I suggest the MX5 looks so much better as a coupe than it does as convertible. Pretty sure I don't prefer the convertible version of anything. Good job on the hardtop! The next buyer will appreciate.
    • IMO wrap does have its uses, but like you said, quality wrap, and professional installation, would probably cost want a quality paint job does, but, the paint, if maintained, is basically for life, and much easier to touch up if required  In other news: it's pissing down here, with thunder, lightning and only some small hail "at this stage", luckily all "my" cars are undercover  I've also been contacted by a guy in Newcastle about the SS, he said he will come down next weekend for a look, we'll see how that transpires I guess 🫰
    • Nah, I'm not an a-hole, ha ha!   I do like the colour match. Some of the carbon fibre wraps are quite freaking horrible. There's one a local company I know uses, and it looks damn good! Also very very expensive per metre to buy! ha ha ha It might be cheaper to respray the roof than use the good CF Wrap, ha ha!
    • Please noooooooo 😭 As for wrap, no thank you mate, I've seen and used "carbon fibre" wrap before, and for these hard tops, they look soooo good when colour matched Like this >>>
    • That depends, someone might offer me a good price to resell it Mark... Ha ha ha!   I can get it wrapped in a really nice looking carbon fiber vynil if you want?
