i know helping out a fellow club member or interested buyer here on the forums for stock parts is a nice thing to do and a good idea, but make sure u got triples of them parts and teh money to pay for labour just in case u get defected and u need old shit in and new shit out and vice versa. 2 cars would be ideal but not all of us have xxxx amount of cash to buy 2 of the same car and keep 1 stock.... and thats just for bolt on mods.

Whats the All reports to be from reputable dealer qualified Mech.. Sounds like engrish. :domokun:

Did you question the abs control function?

They really must have gone over it with a fine tooth comb to pick up the exh. manifold stud UNLESS its can be easily heard.

So whats this about the reports etc? Does that mean a mechanic can supply a report and they dont check *doubt* or?

yeah, i told him it doesent have abs and he looked at me (its quite obvious) i think he was referring to the sensor i have questioned to you guys before located at the front nose of the diff.

well my father is a mechaninc and thinks he knows people that could state it in reports. also i know a few people.

he told me i need a charcoal cannister fitted, i said yes, its fitted it disposes of fuel vapors and then showed him were it was and the lines, he still said i needed it checked.

there is no leaks from the manifold, have organised a hi flow from slide for her, was planning on doing the studs then, but i think ill have to doubble handle as a hi flow would screw with emissions even with stock ecu.

he also questioned the boost solionoid i explained it to him, but then thaught it was best for someone to check it out.

yeah, i think as long as i have a report its ok.. i hope i find a decent mech and it easy and cheap.

A highflow won't screw with emissions as they don't test them at wot, only idle, cruise etc when its off boost.

If anything the only thing it will screw with is making the car louder.

But really.. what are these amature knob heads inspecting cars for when they have NFI what they are on about...

I can't see why you need things like the Hicas to be re-fitted. Did your car have it? As long as the suspension is properly aligned it's perfectly safe & just like 99.9% of all other cars out there that have no rear steering system. What a joke.

As far as the boot wing goes I think I may know what's wrong. I fixed my own, it turned out to be a current limiting resistor that was on the +ve input just near the where the wires feed in. It gets moisture in through the seal & corrodes the resistor till it no longer works. I pulled it open using a hair dryer to help separate it (though a heat gun would have been better) changed the resistor & sealed it back up again with clear silicon as well as the wire seal to stop it leaking again. Wouldn't know I'd touched it.

Could probably give you a hand with yours if you like, there's bugger all to them. It's a bit fiddley but worth the effort.

I believe there were some they didn't come with hicas as there is a powersteer pump available without hicas.

Most likely the n/a base model.

I'm probably wrong though as I don't know for sure.. Just something I vaguely remember.

this is correct

sux to hear how much they reemed you jase! g/l with getting it all fixed and fingers crossed it doesn't cost you your left testicle!

    • I much prefer that to an actual oil pressure issue, never would of thought it would of been a volt drop issue but SAU brains win again. Guess ill be turning down the oil pressure limit for the track and hunting some grounds. Ill hopefully update this thread with some high oil pressure and solid ecu voltage logs.
    • You've just discovered a really good reason to tell yourself, yes, I do need to buy an aftermarket ECU. Put the MAF in the bin. Slap in the new ECU and have a think about what turbo sounds you prefer.  Do you want a 90's style BOV wooosh? Do you want a hektik tsututututu?  Mate, can't go wrong. Just gotta get that ECU and the world is your oyster.
    • Hi. Iam just curisou about this topic. I saw this video. It is about Greddy Type FV2. I know that BoVs are about that sound but how and when to use it? I read some topic here and from what i have understand on stock RB with MAF there will be some "problems" if you use this BoV? It vents the air in to the atmosphere and the MAF on stock car needs this air back in to the intake and not out? Or is it wrong? If so...i saw you can put some adaptor to circule air back...but does that not "loose" that sound? I saw another BoV from Turbosmart and it has two "exhaust" like ports? One is for the stock tubing for letting air back and one is for "sound" and let the air in the atmosphere? Can someone please explain? This is the Greddy one:  And this is the Turbosmart.     THANK YOU!! EDIT: So i read about this topic some more and i if i understand that correctly: That Greddy can function either like BoV or 100% Bypass valve? And that Turbosmart is what they called hybrid so you can adjust what and how many air can be vented out or back in? Is this right? THX!
    • That dirty voltage drop is the culprit I suspect
    • i cant get them all in 1 screenshot unfortunately as i just dont know how to move things around tbh, but they are all from the same log and the line crosses at the same point for all of them
