bj_dove
Howdy all, My HKS boost gauge is just showing full vacuum all the time (ie. just laying over as if its off), and wont go up to zero when turned on without engine running. What sort of voltages is the sender supposed to be putting out (its an electronic gauge)? I can get around 8.7 that goes from the gauge to the sender, and when earthed to the senders earth(s), the voltage does not change regardless of pressure/vacuum. Or if anyone knows where i could source a replacement that would be great! Cheers, Bart. tridentt150v
Is your gauge an analogue [dial gauge] or digital [lcd/led]? If its analogue, then you won't get any signal to it until you turn the motor on because it has a vacuum hose connected to the back of it. ie the signal is manual not electrical. You won't get any reading until there is vacuum. I have an apexi boost gauge that is like this. Usually you will see a 'T' piece where the hose is connected somewhere under your bonnet, mine is at the front of the plenum. bj_dove
No it's an HKS gauge (dial type), but used an electronic sender. I've come to the conclusion the sender is buggered, anyone know a suitable replacement? rob82
Its probably a 3bar map sensor which means with the enigne off ignition on you should have a 5volt ref, ground and the signal wire should read about 1.5volts. bj_dove
When i tested it i was getting 8.7v across the ref and ground, across the signal it was the same (where the fault is happening i assume). If i bought it into my local petroject or similar do you think they would be able to sort out an equivilant replacement?? Cheers, Bart.
