Bad news james :P

Unless you park offstreet in a locked garage, that is the only way. Everytime I park my car in the street at night I am nervous, because there are so many idiots out there who think they can make a quick buck.

Word of advice to everybody: which i should get to myself soon! ALL performance gear in your car (or stereos, etc) that can be otherwise removed in incidents such as this should be either engraved or otherwise market permanently. If anything is sold, for those that are concerned about buying stolen gear, if any sort of method of identifying them later - its going to be impossible for these assholes to sell later to somebody else. We could even have some form of SAU coding to ensure nobody buys anything inadvertently that has been stolen through these forums at least.

Speaking of being angry: some ****s stole all the badges off my car friday night when it was parked in the city. Was only gone about 90mins but that was enough. grrrrrrr!! could have been worse, and no other damage was done, but there are a lot of low life out there these days either jealous of imports, or just want to make other people's life misery.

Really pissed to hear that mate. :P What f@rken a55ho1es!!!

Hope you get your car back to stratch and that the insurance doesn't stuff you around!!

Hate to say this, but sounds like some inside knowledge. How did they know that your alarm is not equiped with some kind of motion detector.

The reason the alarm did not go off is probably due to a lack of motion/infra red sensors. If they didn't open the doors or try to start the car the alarm could not detect the theives. If you wish to not install any motion detectors (as they are known to sometimes false alarm) an idea to to install a 'trigger switch' (similar to the ones in your doors or under your 'hood' and 'boot' lids) in your 'center console' and 'glove box' :). A theif will almost definately look in these areas for goods, and once they are opened they break the electrical circuit and the alarm will trigger. :uh-huh:

i am very sorry to hear J :P

i can vow for steve (phat32) he had all that gear in his car at the cruise that jamez was on so jamez should know steve had it, i was gunna buy the avcr off him about 2 weeks ago so he had it before the theft and anyways steve is no where near the kinda person who woul do that shit

PS. jamez, what area do you live in ? if your near me ill pass the word around, if ya not, probably no point but ill do it anyways

I got my badges stolen by a few punk kids. I asked around and offered a reward. The next thing i know i had about 10 people at my house asking me how much would i give them if they gave me the names of the kids.

You obviously are not dealing with a bunch of kids, but money talks. If you think it is people from your neighbourhood, spread the word.

I offered $200, but ended up giving them $20.

Thanks everyone for your support.

Re: Phat32 posts - not at all related. I didn't have SAFC or G-sensor. I saw them in his car on the GOR cruise. So is all cool. Thanks for looking out though :P

Re: Suburb - South Yarra. Quiet dead-end street. Car was off street. This was the ONLY time I have left it overnight ungaraged or uncovered. It was raining hard when I got home - I just wanted to go inside.

So... yeah. I have been spotted and followed. They knew what they wanted. I think this hurts more - that it was staked out/planned. What killed me the most was seeing the car all smashed up. So very unfair.

Re: Insurance - The car is 100% covered for all parts and damage. My personal items are not covered. Home contents insurance is yet to get back to me though. Some very personal items were in the car (in the console, boot and glovebox - not in plain sight) which kills me that they were taken.

The expensive hardware can be replaced - but my own work and sentimental items cannot. Very very hard to deal with. My watch was in the console which was given to me by a GF who died of breast cancer. Sucks bad :P

Am going to lower my profile. Really enjoyed driving the car and people saying 'hey, cool!' - as I would have myself - but has attracted too much of the wrong type of attention. Which is f*cked.

Cant even use the car for my sister's wedding next weekend. Grrrr.

Getting to 'angry' phase of being upset.

oh james,

*hugs* nothing u can do about it now, all the best for the fiixing, hope they do take long to fic the car up. u better keep an eye on strangers coming near ur properties... but guess u dont really have to coz they succeed their crime?! but take care next time. those skunks might be back coz they know where u live!

gees man, i feel for you, just hang in there, and hope someone finds the ****ers for you and does a similar act to them, i wish the goverment would introduce harsher penalties on theives, murderers etc instead of worrying about people who pay their taxes and live proper lives but occasionally go over the speed limit, tey're not criminals, the ****ers who upset people and **** up peoples lives are!!! grrr

I mean don't people see the red alarm light and how come the alarm didn't go off??

like i said in chops thread...you have to look at the alarm as a "deterant"...coz basically, if someone knows there stuff, they can work around alarms, but i like al's idea of a triger switch in the glove box...unexpected.

im so shattered to hear about your car just after you helped milk and me out:( i had it happen to my previous car, it fully broke my heart and left me feeling violated! quite a few $$$worth of stereo literally "ripped" out of it, i spent weeks custom moulding and fitting everything. and to make it worse it happened when i was working at a job that i hated, and i was kept back to do extra work. and due to certain circumstances, i know its a 99% chance that someone from work did it:(

hmm...im ranting:rolleyes:

uh...i have a pager for my car $200 might be a bit steep but it lets me know if someone is screwing with my car...piece of mind. plus if someone smashes my car again, they will know its personal:uh-huh:

oh yea...i dont have expensive stereos anymore:(

James,

Sorry to hear bout the break in dude. I've seen your car round a fair bit round the Sth Yarra area and have heard of ppl talk bout it when I pass in Chapel St.

Glad to hear most of the gear is covered but I'm sorry bout the personal belongings.

I'm sure we'll all keep an eye out for your gear.

Thanks guys.

Leewah: Cheers :)

Is in with repairer now. Going to take 3-4 weeks. New dash has to come in from Japan. Defi gauges are also coming from OS. Such a shit.

Getting pretty angry about it now.

Want to hurt.

Will keep you all posted.

Thanks again for your support :P
