hi everyone

i have for sale a T78-33D turbo. i bought it a while ago and was going to strap it onto my rb25det motor, but have since changed my mind and working on a more "cost-effective" project, i have no use for it anymore.

i originally paid $1800 for it and am now looking to unload it for $1000.

i've had the copressor housing polished up and it looks pretty good.

the turbo is in good condition and i cant feel any shaft play what so ever. the v-band flange on the exhaust housing has been cut off by the previous owner, so the new dump pipe would have to be welded on. otherwise i've been quoted $20 bucks to weld another v-band flange on. so either way shouldnt be much of a hassel.

thanks for your time

ben

not sure as to CODE 45. but it will be fine gtr, as long as you have the supportings mods to be able to produce this sort of power. i belive the turbo is rated at 700hp so 330kw seems quite realistic

hope that helps

Just to confirm this is the same turbo and with the same style setup it will make around the same power.. 330rwkw will be a breaze.

would come on boost about 4500rpm right

im not sure man, i can only talk from previous experience where i had a "chinese turbo" straped to a rb25. its boost cam on at about 4500rpm, however the t78-33d exhaust housing is smaller then the "chinese" one.

so i'd dare say with slightly more capacity you probably would be look a littel earlier then 4500rpm

hope that helps

    • LandCruiser used to get a fluid flush every 12 to 18 months.   Only because it was about that often the electric motor on the master for brake assist kept dieing and needing to come off.
    • Best practice for any track day should be Bleed brake fluid, inspect rotors and pads maybe even flip pads if they are prone to tapering.  Quality pad (project mu, endless, hawk, winmax, ap), Good high carbon content rotor (dba4000/5000, Ap, projectmu), Quality fluid, Good air supply over the rotor and caliper are all required for best performance at a track day no matter the car.  Even the bedding in of the pad and rotor is key to longevity. I've seen so many rotors destroyed on their first track day due to it.
    • The hardcore tracks1ut guys I know would flush their brake fluid every 6 to 12 months depending on the amount of track work they did. Unlike most of us SAU guys, probably flush it once a decade 🥲
    • Now that these are NLA, I suspect the answer is going to be to 3D print the plastic bit and glue on some felt or something to replace the brush. I have one or two of them (new) in the shed to go onto the car at some point. I could put some effort into measuring them up and could attempt to draw up the printed part in FreeCAD, if there is interest.
