Hi Everyone I am new to this site and everything

wanted to ask questions bout the R32 GTR, I used to own a R33 GTST which I greatly enjoyed and took me years so save up while studying, but last week it was stolen from me and now I am waiting upon the insurance to do the payout and now currently looking at buying a 94 R32 GTR V spec I have asked a number of people concerning the car and one of my friends say the GTR is a ticking time bomb in that the oil system might wear out and most likely the car will need a engine rebuilt, coz it is old, my impressions on the car is that it is very reliable, most people say the car is very good and shouldnt be much problems provided its in good nick. but these friends are suggesting that I should get a S15, If there is a thread bout this car can I plz be posted on it

any advice upon this car would be greatly appreciated

All depends on what you want from a car. Both are very quick, obviously the GTR is faster. The GTR is more iconic and has a history/following more so than the s15 which on the other hand is newer. Both the sr20 and rb26 are good engines and if both are looked after well, will be reliable. In saying that it is obvious the 32 is older and many gtr's are driven hard. Get any potential car fully inspected and you will have a better idea of the condition it is in, because with 32's the odometer means nothing.

My friend recently was shopping between these same 2 cars and had the same pro's con's to weigh up. After driving both he fell in love with the gtr and although he liked the s15's he said the gtr was the car he would want to be in. He found a gtr in very good condition and has been happy since anyway..

Your friends have likely heard stories as I have of someone who has bought a gtr and maybe a few months down the track has had major issues and been up for rebuild. The person I heard this happen too bought the gtr cheap, it was an 89 and not in good condition.. even the day he picked it up there were problems with the electrics. There are some s**t ones going around and buying one will deffinately cost you big time but if you are patient you can find a good one, look after it and it should run very well

What do you want from the car?

Whats it use?

Personally, S15 over a GTR... GTR running costs are high and the S15 will be much much newer

Also risky if it has stock turbos, which could fail... and cost you a motor.
