I have the same mods on my s2, 3" turbo back exhaust, pod, tube n fin front mount cooler. No boost controller but car runs ( in second stage) much higher boost than stock. Around 12psi. Due to the 3" dump etc.

Was thinking of getting an ebc like an avcr to turn it down and run say a flat 10PSI cos the car runs real rich now. Backfires n stuff under high boost, so instead i'm gonna get an safcII to tune the air/fuel ratio's so it does'nt run so rich. Arn't those turbosmart bleedtap style controllers ment to spike heaps? If your car runs anything like mine with those mods i wouldn't have a bleedtap.

For a cheap, yet reliable boost controller you could try a needle-valve one, for example turbotech (search this forum for $22 boost controller). More reliable than a bleed-valve. They work by restricting the pressure that the wastegate sees until the desired boost is reached, thereby building boost quicker than stock and many people have had good results with them.

I have a similar boost controller that I bought off ebay for $35 including postage and it works fairly well. Not as good as something like the AVCR but for the money you cant go past it.

I'd at least get an SAFCI (blue screen) or SAFCII to tune your Air/Fuel Ratios. Not only can this give you more power, it also makes your top end cleaner. You'll notice a difference. :D

I've got a S2 stagea, 3" turbo-back exhaust, the above-mentioned boost controller set to 11psi, safcI, tiptronic auto with shift kit, and I have 170rwkw (or approx 150kw at all 4 wheels, but it was tuned on a 2wd dyno).

Before the safc was installed it ran really rich at the top end and surged a bit then went really flat at the top end. After the safc was installed and tuned it was a completely different story. My power graph is smooth and so is the power delivery. There is no decrease in power right up to the redline.

It sounds great and runs perfect. I really love driving it now. I think the safc and a good tune will make the difference you guys are looking for. :(

Fuel pump, injectors ,coils, computer(All to be done at the same time due to tune)

Good time then to change oil pump and water pump, timing belt , bearings and bolts if you have not done.

Then suspension and brakes.

After you have spent 10K you will want to do turbo upgrade with a/m manifold.

If you have read this far you are a mod-do-holic and not even 1000hp will cure you :)

How much money do you want to spend?
