Yeah dads done lots of manuals before, I only have to deal with autos really for work so he did most of the truly stuff.

Replaced all the bearings, needle rollers and the two thrust washers and new 2nd+4th synchros. $660 I think all those parts cost to my door and I just had to get a few other parts from Nissan.

But if you don't have an oxy, a press, pulling tools and some lever bars/large flat screwdrivers I wouldn't even think about it. No wonder there a tough box, so many things are press fit and there's barely any room to pull them off. That's why we had to use the oxy to heat alot of it up

The NPC lightweight billet flywheel is a great item but. Doesn't feel to different but I've noticed it doesn't lunge if you take your foot off the gas in say second gear nearly as much as before

Also put some lube on the pivot ball. No more squeaky clutch for me

If you copy the pullers off the Nissan manual its a piece of piss i got Mackay harbour engineering to copy some of the pullers and punches for me, and its not that hard at all the dog box in the R32 will be 10x easier than a synchro box.

Hey Jono why stick with the 2wd's, GTR's are the way to go i'm glad i got rid of my GTT i will never go back to 2wd skyline its a waste of time, yeah there good for getting sideways but thats it anything over 280kw and there just as useless as your local falcodores, just my opinion but a 600hp GTR is awesome in everyway!!!!!!!!banana.gif

I found a orginal 69 GTR in japan the other day for $55,000 landed in Oz but my tight arse brother wouldn't go halves with me, now that would be the ultimate thrusday nite cruiser.

Holy crap Jono, can't believe your car gotten written off!!! Also what a cunt for saying that about your car!

Also Callan if you want to wait a bit for that carbon cooling panel I will know of a brand new one available (no not mine) for cheaper than elsewhere.

Is it like the PSI Parts one that covers the whole front section (cause I've seen ones that stop about where the lights start)

If so, very interested in that. Let me know

Also have the Easter cruise DVD's ready to go. I'll PM you about that later Phil but PM me first if you want so I don't forget.

Anyone else who wants one let me know and we can have a meet up or something

Yeah man it really sucks ass. Whats even worse is that I think I may need knee surgery. F-U-C-K-I-N-G C-U-N-T. Thats all I can say about surgery. I've had too much of it lately.

Here is a pic. crash.jpg

Thanks mate, the support is appreciated

My heads been a mess lately. Dizzy, (slurring for the first week), forgetful, agitated etc. Doc said it all part of head trauma \ brain damage. Not permanent, but she said like any other body part, when its injured and needs to heal, it doesn't work properly either. Only downside is that the brain can't be shut down \ not used to help heal it, so it takes a bit longer. Said I should be back to normal in the next 2-3 months. Knee most likely needs surgery, hip pretty f**ked.

Plus, air bags are c*nts. Its not like getting punched in the face, a fist is only a small area. An airbag smashes your WHOLE face at once. Much more spread out force.

Anyway, how is your dads car going? I hear its getting close to completion. Looking forward to seeing it again.

Probably not something you want to hear now, but if/when your ready to part out some stuff let me know. Got a few things I need that can start funding the next project

It's a shame to see that car like that but, so I don't blame you if you don't want to think about that straight away

Yeah the old air bags can f**k ya up, especially when your not expecting them to smash your face in, I wish you a speedy recovery man thumbsup.gif

Dads car is coming along pretty good had a few little mechanical drama's 1.the power steering wasn't working and 2.exhaust manifold was leaking and couldn't tell where. So we spend 2days fixing them turns out the power steering pump we bought was completely f**ked internally so we just had to steel the one of my r33 for now. As for the exhaust leak we pulled apart the turbo, manifold and everything, cleaned it up and slapped her back together and now its fine. It should be all back together in the next few weeks. Scott Paddy a photographer from HPI Magazine is coming down on the 24th of June to do a shoot on it just as it rolls out the shed, he said he wanted to shoot it all brand new before we go and abuse it and i think he's gonna stick around for the car show the next day. The next few weeks are gonna be exictiting can't wait to see what finally gonna look like it's nearly been 3 yrs since we started this project and can't wait to show all these f**king arseholes in mackay and even some of these dip shits on SAU that have been bagging us out, telling us our goal is ridiculous, they can't all go eat a dick and hopefully chock on it.

I hope all the skyline guys and gals can come out that weekend and support us, as a RB screaming at 10000rpm will not dissappoint lol plus it will pump out a fair bit of smoke to banana.gif.

Nah its all good mate, I know you have good intentions. I've already got a stack of people wanting the engine, gearbox, diff, etc.

Just let me know what you want and I will make sure its available.

tell me about it. ahahaha - You're comment "Smashing your face in" is a f#$cken classic. Its funny because its f#cking true.

Dude - And you know what? All those losers will be eating dicks, and well, they probably already do.

This car is a weapon, and you guys have come so bloody far with it. well done for sticking to your dreams. Looking forward to seeing and hearing it hot 10,000rpm. I can still remember your dad talking about that. Saying that it will not be doing anything less. Determined. And good on him.

Cheers Jono, dreams are funny sons of bitches they don't come cheap hahaha!!!!

I hope i doesn't disappoint anyone but there will be some jealous smug prick that will disagree with everything we have done and if it does disappoint they are welcome to settle it on the blacktop lol, its funny cause my old man will have a heart attack if ever hit full boost whilst behind the wheel, it was funny enough watching him run out the dyno room when it would back fire and make loud noises. I just hope my lil brother doesn't put it into a wall or some shit, he's had the most drag experience in GTR's so far even in my R33 he's had like 10 runs in my car and i've had 2 (WTF i'm too generous). Its a big step from going from a 500HP GTR that we haven't driven for 6months to a 800HP GTR gonna be some arsehole puckering lol. Even on its lowest tune, it has a 21psi waste gate spring in it, it will still pump out 700rwhp and we haven't weighted the car yet but it would have to be around 1250-1300kg so power to weight is not to bad either. As for the 10000rpm we have only revved it to that a few times because this engine is so efficient it makes full boost at 6500 and by the time it hits 9000 its past its peak torque, but i'm sure the crowd will wanna hear some 10000rpm action cause i'm sure hell want to.

Nah its all good mate, I know you have good intentions. I've already got a stack of people wanting the engine, gearbox, diff, etc.

I mainly just want little bits and pieces. The front reo bar if its still pretty straight (the one I have now is off a car thats been crashed a few times so is not in the best shape and not exactally straight which is why the front of my car doesnt line up 100% hah) and maybe a few iinterior trims. Thats about all I'm really after that I can think of.

But All good, Get well in the mean time and let me know when your ready to start getting rid of stuff.

I dont need anything urgently

So not gonna re-use the engine in the next car? I suppose if you get a GTR and do a 26/30 you already have the more expensive half of the engine with the car.

    • Save yourself the headache of an alarm. Immobilizer on the signal side of the main EFI relays so it won't start is good enough. DIY killswitch is the same thing except instead of a nice passive system you need to remember to switch it on and off.
    • Yeah, the advent of canbus was supposed to cut down on wiring weight, then some bright marketing wonk says "oh, look at all these wonderful tech gadgets we can cram in here now that we have this wonderous technology" and some arsehole safety legislator says "oh, look at all the wonderful surveillance and tracking gadgets we can cram in here now that we have this wonderous technology" and some dipshit young engineer who has grown up thinking that an extra 500000 lines of code is not a problem because storage is cheap these days says "oh look at all this wonderful shit I can do to one up those dipshit arsholes over at VW" and the Karens of the world all go "oh look at all these fancy things I can do on my screen (so long as I am not driving on a bumpy road wherein touch screens immediately become the single most stupid shit idea ever shoveled into a car) and my 19 zone airconditioning keeps my sweaty fat folds a bit less damp and the windows close themselves because I'm too fat and lazy to wind them up for myself and these reversing sensors would have been great if I'd paid attention to them instead of smashing them on the bollard while I was reversing and staring fixedly forward that day I went to pick up little Charlize from ballet" and the sweaty mongoloids who say "oh this wonderful collision avoidance technology with these 45 excellent radar antennae scattered across the front of my car mean I can tailgate like a methed up tradie at full speed with no fear because the car and the 35 airbags will protect me if it all goes wrong" ...... </shallistopranting?>
    • There's a post from a member (can't recall who), went down the path of a twin scroll G30-660 and it's doing over 300kW+ AND comes on about the same as a high flow RB25DET turbo. Have your cake and eat it too in this case. TBH, if I had a 2nd chance of building my car again (i.e. someone gave me what I wanted for my shit box, but the deal was I had to re-build another R33 and keep the change) I would just pop in a stock NEO motor (with new seals, rod bearings, ARP studs, head gasket, sump, Nitto pump), get a smaller twin scroll turbo, modify the stock low mount (keep the divider in place), and make a solid 300kW on 98RON and call it a day.
    • It's all the sound deadening, and extra shit piled into them, plus all the extra (even though it's thinner) material for crumple zones. I can't fathom in modern cars why they need canbus to the headlights, and why the headlights must be vin coded on some cars to the ECU, BCM, and security module! Especially when they claim it's for security, yet, the canbus at the headlights let's thieves steal the car in minutes, so even more cars are being stolen! The Mercedes Sprinter 907 vans. They're a huge van, but a "basic" van. Yet they have that many canbus networks, plus two Lin networks, AND an Ethernet network. Logging a single network alone of 8 byte data frames, and they will generate a 20mb log file in 5 minutes. That's one network, and I can't remember the exact amount, but there's over 10 full CAN2.0B networks in them. I'm not a fan of modern cars, oddly, more and more I hate DBW, and all the bullshittery the cars try and interfere with. But all that bullshittery adds weight, plus crazy regulations on crumple zones, plus, ever picked a modern seat up, half of them have like 4 electric motors in them and will weigh 30+kg each. Then all the motors for things like adjustable steering columns blah blah blah. And did I mention the sound deadening so you can even hear an ambulance right behind you even if you 7.2surround sound is off?
    • Ah ok, yeah it should be flat, I believe the r34 battery tray has these 3 bumps in them they makes it line up and everything is flat, don't see how it would tilt if everything is secured.
