I went out there with a mate on Saturday, got there at 5 when races were meant to start. Was a decent crowd there at first then it grew getting later into the night. There was probably 15-20 cars that were actually racing, got bored of seeing the same commy's after a few hours and left at 7.

Loved seeing a 10 second plymouth and a 9 sec torana carve up the field though.

Still deciding but will probably be something I work out with Stao (Hypergear)

About to talk to him about a dual ceramic roller bearing turbo, just weighing up whether its gonna be to much of a risk as those turbos are a new development. So I'll probably just end up going with a standard version of the turbo.

Still tossing up between a G2.5 or a G3 of some sort. Either will net me 300rwkw as my setup will be essentially the same as Stao's except I will have a little bit extra from the Poncams and the 6boost manifold.

Just gotta weigh up which will be best

Other option will probably be a GTX30 series. But The benifit of going with Stao is the customer support after sales is outstanding

I'm not going to turn this into a massive debate about how 'x' turbo is better then 'y' turbo, I've learnt my lesson from the HKS. It didn't make the power and there was no customer support due to it being a japanese turbo. I'm more then open to suggestions but at the moment my mind is fairly made up

Have you looked at the Kando t67 series? Brock has run one, and a mate of mine took off his gt3076 ( made 310rwkw at 18psi) to buy the slightly larger Kando which was only $900.

They are a very good turbo.

just make sure its not an internal gated kando as the rear housing dump pipe setup they run isnt the greatest... doubt u would be running IW anyway... other then that kando seem pretty good and LOTS of ppl are running them and happy.

what sized cams u go ??

I can't comment on the internal gated setups anyway, as all of my mates have run external gates.

External gates are superior and a must in all high horsepower / high boost applications anyway.

I dont know enough about the Kando's to go for one, not bagging them, just not enough knowledge

The Hypergear allows me to go ext gate later on by changing the turbine housing to an ext gated setup.

I think my other option is a GTX3076. The 3071 would probably suit better but the mods I have mean I could probably get the 76 coming on song alright and gain the extra power.

Anyone want to buy a set of Vertini Hennessey 20x8.5 +25 F 20x10 +25 R WITH 225/35/20 F 255/35/20 R Achilles ATR Sports?

They are 114.3 stud pattern, HAVEN'T been fitted to a car yet. They have been mounted to tyres yesterday, i've had a change of heart and i'm going for a different set of wheels.

Purchased them for $2025 + $640 for tyres. Happy to sell them to someone local for $2500. PERFECT condition. 4'' dish on the back, 2'' on the front. They look amazing.

Yeah Sean I'd chuck them on the Facebook mackay car parts for sale page if you havent already done so. I dont think anyone on here has a car they want 20's on off the top of my head. But I'm sure you'll find someone with a Falcon (Yes stereotyping now) that will want them

That'll be my plan for next week, i have to take pics of them but i'm away for the weekend going to daydream for a day and staying in a f*cking nice hotel in Airlie all weekend can't wait.

Will put pics and an ad on that FB page, no doubt some falcon bogan will buy them.. pretty sad we share the same stud pattern haha.

    • I’d love to find some where that can recover the dashes to look brand new and original. Mine has a very slight bubble, nothing compared to come I’ve seen though
    • $170K. I asked one of the guys there as a joke if that price was just for the passenger seat as it was where the price sheet was... he tried really hard to crack a smile 😄 He also mentioned that every single part of the car was inspected and either restored or replaced with a new or as new part, or made from scratch. The interior was incredible, every inch like a new car.
    • Time for a modernisation, throw out the AFM, stock O2s, ECU into the e-waste bin. Rip out the cable throttle, IACV, pedal, etc. into the scrap metal bin. DBW, e-throttle, modern ECU, CANbus wideband, and the thing will drive better than when it left the factory.
    • I agree, don't go trusting those trims. As I said, first step is to put the logger away, and do the basics in diagnosis.   I spend plenty of time with data loggers. I also spend plenty of time teaching "technicians" why they need to stop using their data loggers, and learn real diagnostics.   The amount of data logs I play with would probably blow most people away. I don't just use it to diagnose. I log raw CAN data too, as a nice chunk of my job is reverse engineering what automotive manufacturers are doing.
    • I'm aware, but unless you're actually seeing the voltage the ECU is seeing and you're able to verify the sensors are actually working I find it hard to just trust STFT/LTFT. I will say, logging the ECU comes naturally to me because it's one of the lowest effort methods of diagnosis and I do similar things in my day job all the time. Staring at 20+ charts looking for something that isn't quite right isn't for everyone. NDS1 allows you to log almost everything so that's normally what I do and then sort out the data later.
