That is awesome Kingy. I'll never forget that day we checked the tune and it was pulling like hell from 2,000rpm onwards.

Shame the clutch started slipping. I would have loved to see the full potential.

I guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer and get one for myself :)

I was getting 20psi by 4500Rpm

Yeah mine were about the same just over 4000rpm both our engines were identical specs except mine didn't have dust and cobwebs all over it from been parked in the shed hahaha

Speaking of manifolds.........

Slapped the Poncams in for a little look, might have to do something about 1 or 2 of the cam caps, but other then that it looks pretty good.

I hope you haven't got valves/lifters in place? :(

Just wish I could throw it all together, Theres gonna be some stuffing around working out CR and working out what head-gasket I need to get as mines going to be a touch to Thin. Think a 1.5mm gasket will be OK

Have to grub screw the crank collar on as well. Just got an email saying I have more bits on the way from Kudos so should have them by the end of the week.

Still waiting to hear back From HEL UK about my oil cooler kit. I payed them a few weeks ago and it hasnt left and they havent replied to my email, might have to send another.

I think I'm gonna have a play with paints tomorrow. Might Try painting my spare cam covers tomorrow, Spray some Wrinkle paint on then paint the EVOKE over the top which is the colour my cam covers are at the moment, Just for something to do... lol

Them UK dream boats are always slow with sending shit, I avoid them like the plague + there postage is through the roof.

Just ordered a shit load of Mc Shit from VPW to get my Turbo sitting pretty on that Manifold. Next on the list is to order all the titanium pipe I need for Screamer and Dump Pipe all of the R32 Titanium Piping turned up this week it's going full Titanium Turbo back and external Titanium screamer out behind front wheel through the side skirt that will save almost 20kg in weight over old 4" Stainless system.

i need a titanium exhaust.. one day. bout to put the oil filter relocation kit in. just made up bracket and gotta pretty it up a bit. few carbon items will be getting added also. anyone need a carbon exhaust shield, and carbon timing cover. come with a kit

Reply from HEL tonight. Kit getting sent out today :)

10 pounds postage, don't know what you were talking about Ben :P I thought this was the problem (they hadn't accounted for international postage)

Not bad all up $460AUD all up I think it was for the thermostatic oil cooler kit with 19 row cooler and braided lines

Callan, what CR are you aiming for? Would be nice if E85 was here.. Could build to 9:1 without an issue. Maybe even a tiny bit more.

Also, what is your view on restrictors? I went 2 x 1.3mm with the blocked VCT (For the 3.0L) and at 85psi there was a tiny bit of oil in the can. Dropped to 75psi - 80psi and no more oil.

Have to work out CR probably this weekend when I do the dummy build. Will be between 8.5 and 9 to 1 though

I have a 1.5mm restrictor and a blank for mine. Wasn't going to block one but after talking to a few people who said they didn't and then had to pull the head off and put one in I thought I should.

Awesome. I built the RB30 with 8.4:1, and I wasn't happy with the low end power. You can really tell when you're missing that bit of CR. Mostly off boost. Even with the 256's in, it could have been better. Especially with a 3.0L!

I had luck with the 2 x 1.3mm but if you're happy with 1 x 1.5mm then try it out and see how you go. Are you increasing the oil pressure? I opened my clearances from 2.2thou to 2.35 thou and bumped the pressure up 10psi - 15psi. Guys on SAU said its kind of like this:

2.2 thou - Factory

2.3 thou - 300rwkw

2.4 thou - 400rwkw

Just sharing some notes anyway.

If you are going to play with oil pressures, save yourself weeks by cutting a hole in the sump and putting in a bung so you can change the springs in the oil pump without having to take the sump off. Quite a few people are doing this now. My mate did it and had to change his pressures about 3 times. Saved lots of time lol. Leon would probably tig one on for next to nothing.

    • I believe mine is helical and not clutch type. During drifting one wheel was spining as if it was open diff so bought kazz 1.5 way and has sat on my shelf for the past 5 years as I want to learn shiming process and do it myself   in meantime thought I change the diff oil hence post here. So any 75-90?   i am pretty sure r34 are helical not clutch lsd as standard . That is gtt ones
    • Throw between gears are so much that is getting annoying. I have pro short shifter on my mx5 and e36 and love it . Skyline is getting unbearable    would syncro issues and short shifter is no no? Anyone mind explaining a little on why before i buy cube
    • No. Well, some people "seem to use redline shockproof in the diff". Most do not. I would only contemplate it if you have badly worn CW&P gears. And no. No-one in their right mind has ever put ATF into a diff. Any normal diff/gear oil of the right viscosity will do. Whatever takes your fancy. Castrol, Nulon, Penrite, Redline MT range. Whatever. It's just gears. 75W-90 or 80W-90 is typical. I think that GL-5 is hard to avoid these days, although I think that a GL-4 is probably preferred, given the vintage of the equipment. At least Redline offer a number of GL-4 oils. If you have a clutch type LSD instead of the VLSD, then of course you need a proper LSD oil. Anything from any of the same names above. If you have a helical LSD, then it does not require LSD oil, and the recco is the same as for the VLSD. You don't want the LSD friction modifiers in the oil for a non-clutch type LSD if you can avoid it.
    • You may want to list it up for a little higher - This price is much lower than you may realize. Here you're pretty much selling to people who most likely already have these things on their own rigs. S chassis people eat this stuff up like you'd not believe.
    • I had my car for over 10 years and done around few thousand miles but never changed the oil. thinking of changing it.   what brand and viscocity would you put in ? people seem to use redline shockproof in the diff   on  contraty seen others using atf dexron 2 or 3 so wanted to check. is it 1 liter?
