you c**nts are f*kn losers. if you got nothing good to say about the dude, lay the f*k of him. fkn little shits hiding behind ur computers. who cares he dusnt know as much as you, it dusnt mean you have to take the piss out of him to make urself feel special

clearly your his mate or his other account.

Andru-- DUDE where you gettin those figures from??

the wrx stock turbo is the TD04. max boost is at 14.5 at 3500 rpms and tapers to around 8 or 9 at redline. IHI VF39 is the stock turbo on usdm STI's. IHI VF34 is the turbo for JDM STI"S

You know there are totally different engines.. Totally different turbos.. DIFFERENT CAR!!! OMG did you know that??

Seriously man..

Why do you hate them now?? coz they run higher boost? Ever thought of why??

If they come stock with those boost levels, wouldn it be safe?? As if a company is gonna boost the car so high that the engine will go POP after a month or so..

Edit: oh and-- the stock turbo is good for about 16.5 lbs, anything above that is probably above the efficiency range of the td04L

So you cant say they run 17psi stock!! coz thats peak boost levels..

gd entertainment you provide..

Andru, just to answer your question, differently designed/manufactured turbos can generate/sustain different levels of boost.. currently skylines use turbos that spool up quicker but run less boost, we also have 2.5/2.6lts vs. 2.0 or in the new wrx 2.5 (i'd be interested to see what boost they run)..

The evo's also run high boost levels e.g. 14/15PSI.. it's the offset you get for having a 2Ltr engine and trying to create high power..

As for the comments.. well.. it's an acceptable question, maybe just the way you state it.. You could have simply asked "Why does a WRX/EVO run high levels of boost vs. Skylines".. Also - you just need to look at the RB20DET, they run quite high levels stock (e.g. 11/12psi - or whatever it is) - it offsets the 2Ltr engine..

Anyways.. good luck, appears to be a hunting ground here.. :)

And ANDrue.. please read what i wrote above..

Since im a nice guy, i asked a friend of mine for some sites for you..

so heres one for you:

http://www.cars101.com/subaru/impreza/wrxs...html#mechanical

You will learn everything about a wrx!! then go compare it to your wonderful car.

gdluck mate..

That was so terrible I think you just gave me cancer.

WRX was designed for rally conditions, short events (only used for a few kilometres) while the RB series engine was designed for the track for events like the JGTC where it runs for heaps more distance and higher power.

Just like trucks are designed with massive torque to move other trucks around, and RX7's are designed to move 1 person driving (hehe they have zero torque down low hehehe).

andru, i have a tip for you. if you get a piece of alluminium around 60mm in diameter, then drill out a 20mm hole in the middle. now place it in your intake track (just after the nipple that your boost guage get's it's reading from). now disconnect your wastegate actuator. you should be now able to reach 40psi (briefly) on your stock turbo.

OMFG your stock turbo can make 40psi it must be heaps better.

read these next lines over and over:

boost pressure is not power

a car running 14psi does not make double the power of a car running 7psi

not every single car is equipped with the same turbo

boost pressure is partly a measure of restriction. it's meaningless without some kind of specs on the turbo, and some numbers on how much air the compressor is pumping at a certain pressure.

you want to really find out what's going on power wise tell me how much air (in CFM) a standard subaru wrx turbo is pumping at 14psi, then tell me how much air a standard nissan 34 GTT turbo is pumping at say 7psi.

think twice before hitting the new thread button please.

i got my facts from wrx.com.au its all there

alright guys lets just put all the crap aside for one second

i dont HATE rexs...i jsut reguarded as a real good good car...like i was amazed that they go so fast and stick so well to the ground......AWD and all u no...but after finding out it runs 17 boost i kinda just lost a lil for em.

will it make you respect them more if they went for larger turbos running low boost at the same power?
