Ok Time for my thank yous

Firstly I would like to thank Anna, with out her I dont think it would have gone ahead, When I was getting nowhere with the officials Anna took over and pestered them until we got the answers we needed, Further more organising it so that we got the required people with the required forms at the required place took a massive behind the scenes effort

Secondly I would like to thank all the members who took the time to put thier cars on display, the cars looked great guys! So thanks to Shane, Mark, Damo, Ben, Franky and Jarrad

Then I would like to thank all the people who helped set up on friday night Marc, Karen, Shane and Dave in particualr as thier cars were not even on display and they put in the hard yards! (Did I miss anyone?)

CHRIS! A massive thanks to you for the awesome Dj ing! Your set up really added a lot to this display

Dale, Benno, Troy and others thanks so much for helping us man the stand

And Shane thanks for the printing you gave us and for knocking off the screens from work lol

All up the event was a sucess with at least 10 genuinely interested people taking membership forms (Even if only half of them come back that is a good thing!) and many more showing interest in SCC so Congrats every one and thanks for making me not look like a fool by keeping the display from flopping!

I would like to thank everybody that helped me out. Andy epecially for getting this thing up and running in the first place, organising people to sumit their nominations, and for first contacting Alisa @ Auto Salon (even though she did ignore you after a while ).

Shane copped a massive pestering from me about forms and fliers etc. and they looked great

Andy has pretty well thanked everyone, but i'd like to say thanks also to Benno and Shaneo who took the SCC fliers down to the carpark and put them on every skyline windscreen they could find. Massive effort guys, thanks

Overall, I think it was a success, and for our first AS entry, I think it looked great! We had a lot of interest in membership and the SCC, and it was great to just hang out with other like minded people all weekend. Sunday afternoon was interesting, by 5 we'd pretty well gone insane with lack of sleep, and started our own hoedown and groin-thrust dance out front of the stand.

I had a ball and my voice is totally f@#$ed now. My ears are still ringing from all the bass, but totally worth it. I think next year will be even better with the lessons we have learnt.

The groin thrust dancing was very interesting and drew a lot of admirers.

Dinner at Sizzler afterwards was another great idea and I at least ate some near decent food finally after a weekend of dip, lollies and soft drinks!!

Agreed. i think some fundraising is on the cards to pay for some bling bling on our display... or pay off the judges either works for me.

I disagree Shane, I think our stand was well received because it was about the cars and the fact they looked like they were driven on a daily basis and not track/show cars only. I think the parachutes were a brilliant idea and Damo should be thanked for his ability to get them. Everyone else was taping cloth to the floor and we looked good for our simplicity. We also looked like we were enjoying ourselves so more people stopped and read the signs, literature and asked questions. Even if the question was "who are these weirdos??" And the videos from Chris were awesome!! I had the best time because of that music!! Thank you Chris.

If the flooring was taped down we would never have seen damos parachute skid either! That would have been a crying shame

No Problems guys, it was easy. I would to say that we all did a great job and I think that the SCC will be a huge hit as we promoted the hell out of it, to probably the majority of the skyline community who dont frequent SAU.com.

You guys had a good display, well done. Was a good mix of cars, although a distinct lack of 33 sedans , and I have to say the parachute floor covering idea is definately the go.

After the "little" problem we had with the organisers which meant over half of our group (including myself) pulled out we were lucky enough to get one trophy, the editors choice for Jamie's (Drpsi) Starlet.

yep just a GTS-t - does actually have RB25/30 engine

would love to make it 2 the cruise hopefully, but only a few ppl who normally like to dress up in blue that turn me off the whole cruise scene

last years cruise we didnt have any drama from the boys in blue, they were looking at us at the aspley hypermarket, and one tailed us for a lil bit when we left there, but other than that they werent around to annoy us.

The one thing about SAU I really like is that most of the wonderful people don’t do stupid things that bring cops down on us. SAU is conservative and friendly club where everyone gets a chance.

I cruse with allot of the other Brisbane clubs and I always leave SAU events allot happier for having attended.
